Kendal Hostel is an attractive Georgian townhouse in the histroric market town of Kendal. The hostel is situated infront of the well known Brewery Arts Centre with the front of the hostel leading onto Highgate that is only 200 yards from Kendal town centre.
Kendal hostel has 11 rooms avaliable that can cater for individuals, groups and also can be hired as a whole hostel. These 11 rooms can accomodate up to 48 guests per night. The 11 bedrooms range from 2-11 guests per room.
As the Hostel is self catering guests are welcome to use the kitchen, living room, dinning room and also wash facilities and drying room. We also have a secure bike shed that guests are welcome to use free of charge.
The hostel is very easily accesible by public transport but also by car as the M6, junction 36 is only 8 miles away.
For the outstanding balance on arrival we accept cash and debit and credit card payments
Check in from 5pm to 8pm. (check in later than 20:00 can be prearranged by contacting the hostel).

Kendal Hostel is situated only 8 miles from the M6 motorway. Leave junction 36 and follow signs for Kendal South, this will then lead you onto the main one way system into Kendal. The hostel is situated on the left just after the Highgate Hotel.
There is a pay and display car park situated just behind the hostel which belongs to the Brewery Arts Centre. They do charge £1.20 per hour but after 6pm to 9am they just charge £1.20 for overnight. There is also 24 hour tickets available for £7.00. Kendal also has local car park which are run by the council. These car parks charge hourly from 8am to 6pm. 3 day and 7 day passes are available for these car parks (please see the ticket machine for prices) Free parking is also available on New Road by the river which is around 5 min walk from the hostel
From the Town Centre:
From Kendal town hall, walk south 200 yards and the hostel entrance is on the right through the archway.
Kendal train station is approximately 0.7 miles/15 min walk from the hostel. Exit Kendal train station down the slip way. Once you have reached the round about at the bottom of the slip way go straight over the round about onto Wildman Street. Carry on on Wildman Street over the bridge past the Riverside Hotel and follow this road until you reach Kendal Town Centre where Greggs will be on your left hand side and the band stand on your right. Take a left at Greggs and this will lead onto Highgate. We are around 300 yards on your right hand side from Kendal's Town Hall
Kendal bus station is situated only 0.4 miles/10 min walk from the hostel. Walk South on Blackhall Road/A6 towards Stramongate. Turn left onto Stramongate, follow this road until you reach Kendal Town Centre where Greggs will be on your left hand side and the band stand on your right. Take a left at Greggs and this will lead onto Highgate. We are around 300 yards on your right hand side from Kendal's Town Hall
