Héraðsskólinn Hostel is a brand new hostel in one of Iceland´s most spectacular buildings. Originally built as a school in 1928 the building remained as foundation of education and culture for decades until it closed down in 1991. It has been completely renovated but kept in its original look. We offer a range of accommodation options, including dorms, private rooms and family rooms. We can also offer larger groups a private entrance with exlusive facilities. We have a cafe/bistro, library to experience the rich spirit of the building as well as tourist information and booking services for south Iceland. Héraðsskólinn is located at Laugarvatn right in the center of the popular ´Golden Circle´natural paradise. At Laugarvatn you can enjoy hot geothermal baths, spa and great nature. The visibility for northern lights is exceptional at Laugarvatn. We offer free wifi to our guests and the building is wheel chair accessible
