Au coeur de Naples et de ses contrastes, la Controra est un ancien monastère réhabilité
en Flashpackers Hostel.
Un véritable havre de paix : la Controra et son jardin est un lieu où vous pouvez vous relaxer en plein milieu de la ville et de son tumulte.
Les chambres de la Controra ont été récemment rénovées. Sur le sol en mosaïques sont placées une variété de décorations telles que des coquillages, des jarres à café, à ail ou à piment typiquement Napolitains, ou encore des 'ex-voto' et des cornes de corail rouge, qui font partie du folklore ésotérique de Naples et sont considérés comme des portes bonheur.
Notre lounge bar sert de lieu pour des expositions d'art contemporain et des évènements multimédia. Vous aurez du mal à trouver les membres du staff chantonnant des mélodies Napolitaines pour vous divertir: nos hôtes font la différence pendant qu'ils se relaxent sur des hamacs dans le jardin.

Buy a Metronapoli ticket (at the yellow kiosks as well as tabbaconists' (T) shops: the 3 euro day pass is a good deal).
La Controra is close to the Salvator Rosa metro stop on Line 1: if you come from Napoli Centrale train station, take metro Line 2 until Cavour station, then change to Line 1, Piscinola direction. Once in Salvator Rosa station, take escalators up and follow exit signs to Santa Croce. When you emerge, go down hill keeping on the left hand.
Piazzetta Trinità alla Cesarea is on the left: it is not the first alley you find (which is Vico San Mandato), it is the second alley, basically, a little stairway with a crumbling red-painted church at the top. Walk toward it - we are tucked just around the corner to the left.

I stayed at Controra for a week and I enjoyed my stay because of the atmosphere the very helpful staff the very good price and the sufficient breakfast for that price.Ireccommend itwithout hesitation evangelia, from Greece ~ 11th May 2013

The staff here is amazing and very helpful! The atmosphere is nice, and there are people that like to stay awake and talk, and others that go to bed early. Our room was very clean, even with 7 other people. The breakfast was delicious, cereal, toast, coffee (the basics).Our only problem was the distance from the train station, the hostel is a good 40 minute walk from the train station, but there are metros that run close by. On the other hand, they are only a 15 minute walk from "pizza street" Jacquelyn, from USA ~ 8th Apr 2013
