Our guest house located 5 minutes walk from the JR Momodani station. You can easily access to all the areas in Osaka using the JR Loop Line.
Osaka castle (Osakajokoen) is only four stops away from Momodani station.
If you have JR Pass, you can also used it to travel to other Kansai areas such as Nara, Kyoto, Kobe, Wakayama and Shiga (it's famous for the Lake Biwa, largest lake in Japan). To get to any of the above area, take JR Loop line to Osaka station (Umeda) then change to another JR Line.
Usually, most of the big cities are similar in every country. What makes it more characteristic is the local area where people actually live. IMGH is located close to a mixed traditional and old-fashioned area. There are arcades called Shotengai (covered roof street) has many types of shops and restaurants with full of mixed Asian, the real Japanese or Japan atmosphere. You may see a real view that how people live in Osaka!!

The hostel owners were incredibly nice. That being said, most of the hostel seemed to be outside, nothing was particularly clean, and it all had the somewhat shabby feel of a motel. It would not be my first choice of hostel in the future. John, from USA ~ 24th Apr 2013
