Most Chungking hostels are similar in room size (tiny) , appointments (WC/Shower?AC/TV), etc. Ashoka seems as good as any. Staff helpful, room clean. Lift lobby (upper) is a bit of a shocker, but once in hostel, OK. Lifts not (as often reported) a problem. But for brief stays in HK, location is A1. Maxwell, from Aruba ~ 26th Feb 2010

The trick to staying in Chungking Mansions is having extremely low expectations, but with that it mind and prepared for an extremely small room, I was very satisfied with Ashoka Hostel. I bought a sim card for my phone and called them when I was close to the building, and they sent someone down to meet me (which was absolutely necessary, I never would have found the right elevators on my own). The room was clean and they'd done an impressive job with the tiny space. I got there early and was eve Maria, from Sweden ~ 3rd Feb 2010
