Our hostel is in a secure and pretty private village which attracts backpackers from all over the world. We are only two blocks from the beach Ipanema and in easy reach of a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops.
The atmosphere in New Ipanema Hostel is friendly and informal and our helpful staff are dedicated to making your stay in Rio an enjoyable and memorable experience.

I got to the hostel and they told me that the key to the room was broken and that I had to wait for someone for some hours to fix the door. This was very unprofessional and disappointing. I booked this hostel online, but ended up not staying here: the reason is this hostel is the only one available online of 7 independent hostels on the same courtyard. It\'s also the most expensive. So, once there, I saw the others, probably less pretty and clean but I got one for half price. I had to lose my 10% deposit paid online. So, this hostel got a 10% of my price for nothing, the other hostel an unexpected customer. Pros: great location! Cons: min 2-night stay, and no towels available! Giovanni, from USA ~ 28th Jun 2012
