Welcome to Goka Sansou. We are conveniently located near the Gokayama Gassho-zukuri site, famous for the historic villages in Shirakawa-go and Gokayama area, where there remain over 100 thatched houses with steep raftered roofs which look like a pair of hands held together in prayer. Our onsen is natural hot spring. If you want to visit the historic site and at the same time enjoy hot spring in beautiful nature, Goka Sansou is a perfect choice. We offer transportation service to the nearest train station.
Our hotel is a three-storied building, with a capacity of 83 people. We have 22 guest rooms, including 9 Japanese style rooms, 11 western style rooms, and 2 Japanese and western mixed style rooms. All rooms are clean and cozy, equipped with toilet rooms. Some rooms have their own baths.
Our bath is natural hot spring which has a weak alkaline content. It has effect on atopic dermatitis and other skin problems, relieving fatigue, nerve disease, and etc. We have 2 outdoor public baths, and 2 indoor public baths with sauna rooms, for men and women. The public baths are located on the first floor, available from 10:00 until 9:00 the next morning. The sauna rooms are available from 11:00 until 21:00.
After enjoying a relaxing bath, delicious cuisine comprised of local food from the rivers or the mountains will await you. We offer mostly seasonal mountain vegetables and freshwater fish cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We have a conference room that can hold up to 80 people. It can be used for meetings upon reservation. We also have a large hall that can be reserved for parties for 2 hours and a half until 21:30 every day. You can enjoy shopping for gifts and souvenirs at our gift corner.

From JR Johana Station, take a bus bound for Shirakawagou, and get off at Kaminashi bus stop. We are 5min walk from the bus stop. After getting off the bus, walk west along Rt. 156, and turn left at Ohira Bridge. Walk straight forward until you see the hotel, a cream color building. The bus takes 30min, and cost 900yen.
If you take a taxi from JR Johana Station, it takes 25 min and cost about 6000yen.
We offer pick-up service from Kaminashi bus stop. We also offer transportation service to and from JR Johana Station. Our bus can pick you up at 15:10 at Johana Station, and take you to Johana Station at 10:15 (leaving the hotel at 9:35). It is not a regular service, so please make a reservation by email a day in advance.
By car:
Get off the Gokayama I.C. on Toukai Hokuriku Expressway, and drive on Rt. 156. Turn right on Rt. 156 and drive to Ohira Bridge. Turn left and go straight forward to our hotel. It is a 7km, 10min drive.
