FROM THE GREYHOUND / TRAILWAYS / PETER PAN BUS STATION
Walk 3 blocks to New York Avenue Metro Station and take the Red Line train toward Shady Grove. Exit at Metro Center and take the 11th Street exit. Walk three blocks North on 11th Street (about 10 minutes) to HI-DC, just North of K Street.

Elevator is useless and they make a joke of it, it is no joke when you are on 8th floor and have to wait 5-10min for an elevator every time. Place is a bit rundown in terms of furniture and the beds have a metal rod that sticks in back when sleeping. Crowd is quite old but this is D.C so that may be expected but still bedroom of 8 5+ ppl above 50. Location is top quality, possibly best, so worth staying if there for short amount of time but not long stints (if young). Alistair, from Australia ~ 2nd Jun 2013

Loved HI Baltimore, great staff, very peaceful. The location was great, close to everything I wanted to see. I will definitely go back as I still had more places in the city I wanted to visit. If you are a traveler who needs a good safe place to sleep and is not looking for luxury, this is the place. I am a longtime member of HI and am in my early fifties and still meet wonderful people young and old from all over the world. It was a very good experience. edward, from USA ~ 10th May 2013
