This is not a hostel - it's a hotel. If you're a single traveller, it doesn't really present any opportunity to meet people. There is a bar, but it's real sterile and I didn't bother. The rooms are fine, clean and comfortable. And the only worker who spoke english to some standard was kinda cute, so that's a small bonus! TIP: If you're looking up train times, you want to go to Balatonszeplak felso. Cross the tracks when you get there and the hotel is diagonally to your right.

The standard is good but the old lady in reception is very impolite and she charges the hole sum not subtracting the 10% deposit! If you want to pay with forints not euro she takes an exchange rate like loan shark!!!

Only one young girl (cleaning lady?) knew English. You can't pay with credit card. Really hot rooms in summer!!!

A Soviet-styled summer hostel quite near to beach ( a nice walking distance). "Characteristic" rooms, but clean toilets and bathrooms. Nice staff doesn't speak english well but german instead.

We had a group of 12 people on two bookings, the lady at check in would not agree that this was so even though we had our booking forms and we could see her copies, she was very aggresive towards us. While 3 of the girls in our party who are aged 16 years old were having a shower at 11pm at night, a group of 4 dutch boys thought it would be really funny to push each other into the shower area whilst the girls were showering, there is no lock on the shower door!!! On complaing to the man on the desk down stairs, he agreed it was wrong BUT he couldnt deal with the boys as he is not allowed to leave the front desk! Later thet night at 12.30am the dutch boys and three of the girls who work at the hostel during the day, were watching the tv and shouting very loud on our floor (the boys floor was the floor below us)and they woke up the whole floor. The only way to get them to be quiet was to threaten them with the police. when we left the hostel, later that day, one of our party had lost his passport, when we contacted the hostel to ask if it had been found they were so unhelpful!!! making out they didnt understand us! They understood us very well when we were spending our money there, and making us pay extra money on top of our agreed amount on our booking form!! We do not recommend this hostel to anyone!!
