Rivoli Cinema Hostel is the best located hostel in Porto, Portugal. We are right at the Oporto historical center in downtown Aliados, where you can find streets full of monuments, restaurants, caf�s, esplanades, shops, supermarkets or touristic info, just next-door to the Metro (underground/tube), Train, Bus, Taxis and Historical Tram.
Aliados are the central axis between picturesque Ribeira district, the Cathedral (S�) and the vibrant Nightlife of the �Piolho� area. You can reach everything by foot, taking no more than 5/10 minutes. At a walking distance you have the most important references in the city like the Aliados Square, S�o Bento Train Station, the Cathedral, Clerigos Tower, Lello Bookshop, Port Wine Cellars and the Douro River.
You can also take a direct bus or metro to visit Serralves Museum, F.C. Porto Stadium, Casa da Musica and other contemporary architecture buildings from the international prize winners� local architects �lvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo Souto Moura.
We are also at the perfect spot to visit the most important festivals in Porto. We get surrounded by the St. John�s Festival on the night of 23rd June and have next door the Fantasporto every February, in Rivoli Theater.
The building of the Hostel it�s a simple �Art Deco� style from 1930�s, full of character itself. It was designed by Eng. Francisco Xavier Esteves, the same author as the amazing Lello Bookshop (considered the 3rd most beautiful in the world), to serve as his family home. Although it preserves the charm of most original elements, it was carefully renovated to provide you high standards comfortable accommodation with updated infrastructure.
The Rivoli Cinema Hostel has 4 bed dorms and double rooms with shared bathrooms. As for inside common areas, we have for you a fully equipped kitchen with a dinning area, a large lounge area to relax, have a drink, reading, play video-games (Playstation and Wii) or watch one of our almost 300 dvd movies. On the outside we have an outstanding 150 m2 Terrace with an inflatable swimming pool during the summer, where you can sunbath, shower, barbecue, listen to music, party, or just socialize with the others guests!!! We even have on the terrace the past greenhouse converted to a small Gym where you can get fit doing some cycling or elliptical exercise!!!
