City Backpackers is an environmental-friendly hostel with a homely atmosphere, situated in a beautiful, well-preserved 19th Century building. The location is the best possible in the city centre - safe and quiet, although only a 500 meter walk from the Central Railway Station and the Main Bus/Airport Shuttle Terminal. All the best city sights, including the Old Town, are within walking distance and the main shopping street, Drottninggatan, is just around the corner.

City BackPackers is designed to be the ultimate meeting place. You are guaranteed to meet other travelers from all over the world. We never have less than 50 young travelers staying with us on any single day of the year. This does not mean that our hostel always is jam-packed with people though.
You can stay in a room with two, four, six, eight, eleven or 12 beds (please note that 2-bedded rooms can normally only be booked directly through the hostel). Female dorms are provided. We also have two apartments for up to six people, with private bathroom, shower and kitchen.
Note: Sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers are a must-have and in case you do not bring your own, you will have to rent them for 50 SEK. If you bring a sleeping bag, you will need to rent a sheet and a pillow case for 25 SEK or - of course - bring your own.
We have a large fully-equipped guest kitchen within the hostel and also a new, cozy backpacker café in-house with breakfast options and a great variety of light meals, sandwiches, cookies, snacks and hot/cold drinks all day long! When you want to relax there is a hot sauna and lounge areas with satellite TV, daily newspapers and mini table tennis available. We have a lot of common areas where you hang out and meet other travelers. Every night is movie night when we show a popular Swedish film in the TV room.
We offer a very popular and incomparable Viking Sauna Tour during winter season! Other tours are also provided all year round.

For your security there are lockers both inside and outside the rooms (bring a padlock or buy one in the reception). Before you check in or after you have checked out you can keep your luggage in our luggage room. The hostel also keeps a nice courtyard at your disposal.
City BackPackers is open 365 days a year and has no curfew. No hostel membership is needed.

PLEASE NOTE that you must book for a minimum of two nights at the weekend.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE that should you need to, you should cancel a booking the day before arrival (= minimum 24 hours in advance). If not, the first night will be charged.

On the screen in front of me it is not at all clear what is good or bad, the titles are not over the columns but in a ist aat the bottom! So I fille din 'average all through to avoid giving 'poor' when what I wanted t say was 'excellent'.
