Elephant Backpacker Sydney in Sydney, Australia

Good location right opposite a travelling walkway up to the top of Hyde Park, most places in walking distance if you don\'t mind a 20 min walk. A few problems with checking in, even though we booked and paid the full amount 6 months in advance - we were put in separate rooms, not offered a change... Also I was supposedly already booked in when I arrived (!!) and a manager had to be called to sort this out. Took about an hour in total to check in. Needed a lick of paint but was fairly clean. This place is an absolute dump I wanted to leave the minute I checked in. Not only was my room dirty, it was uninviting as well. The private has absolutely nothing apart from the bed, not even a bedside lamp. Combined with torned walls, narrow beds and a non-functioning TV it reminds you of a cell. The corridors and rooms are filled with rather aggressive notes saying what you can\'t do. Creates a very bad and unfriendly atmosphere. Expect nothing, and you will still be disappointed.
