Our flagship accommodation is the luxurious suite which even has its own jacuzzi â€" ideal for honeymooners or for that special break. El Cercado, located in open countryside and commanding magnificent views towards the south, has an adults´and a childrens´swimming pool, ample car parking, a bar-restaurant (rated at 3 Forks) which offers a wide range of local dishes and spacious function rooms. Nearby is the picturesque village of Bérchules, so typical of the region with its white houses clinging to the mountain sides, where the unique´New Year in August´ is celebrated each year. Traditional methods of cultivation in the area involve the use of horse drawn ploughs and irrigation by the centuries-old acequias. Further afield are the ski slopes of Puerto la Ragua (2000 m) but most visitors will be more than happy to explore the wonderful countryside on the doorstep either on foot, on bicycles or on horseback. There are many well-marked footpaths in the area including access to the famous GR 7 and wildlife of all kinds abounds in this unspoilt National Park area of the Sierra Nevada. Designed, built and run by the RodrÃguez family El Cercado offers a warm welcome to all its guests, many of whom come back time after time to this little piece of paradise.
