Our hostel is only a short walk to the central city square, Plaza Catalunya, and we have one of the primary metro and RENFE train stations, with direct airport service, on our doorstep. Situated between two attractive main-streets, Passeig de Gracia and Rambla de Catlunya, directly across from the impressive Fundació Antoni Tàpies, you will not find a better located hostel in Barcelona. Step outside and you will find countless bars, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions to suit your every desire. We have mixed dorm rooms for 4, 6, 8 and 10 people and great communal spaces; including a comfortable living room, dining area, a small, but fully-equipped kitchen and 2 balconies, each with an amazing view of the impressive building that houses the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, itself a popular tourist attraction. Several nights a week we organize special outings to restaurants, bars and clubs (normally with free entrance). We are famous for our parties and this is the best way to experience the renowned night-life of Barcelona and get to know some of the other guests in the hostel. We are professionals and this is our job, so come along and enjoy the fun! If you're not up for the party and you decide to just stay in for the night, no worries, our relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes it easy to meet new people and get a good night sleep. We also organize various daytime activities and have a special chalk board where the staff posts their daily recommendations. All of our friendly staff speak both English and Spanish and are filled with local knowledge. They will provide you with maps and all the information you will need or want - sightseeing, transportation, restaurants, nightlife and more. We also have a special insider's guide to Barcelona that was written by the staff and guests and will provide you with honest advice about what is cool and worth seeing in Barcelona. As we are travelers like you, we know what you want out of a hostel and will do all we can to make you comfortable and assure that your stay in Barcelona is unforgettable. ***Check In Information - Very Important*** Reception is open from 09:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m., Monday to Friday and from 09:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Our Address: Carrer de Arago 268, Principal (1st) floor.
The closest metro stop is Passeig de Gracia, on Line 3 (Green). walk out the exit for Arago-Rambla Catalunya. Please be aware, the Passeig de Gracia metro station has three different metro lines and a Renfe train network all intersecting at the same stop. If you arrive with any metro or train line other than the Line 3 (Green) you'll have a very hard time finding the correct exit. If you do not arrive with the Line 3 (Green) and you exit using any exit other than the Arago-Rambla Catalunya exit you could be as far away as three city blocks from where you need to be.
The hostel is located between the two main streets, Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. As you walk along c/ Arago coming from the street Passeig de Gracia, we're located on the left hand side of the street just after the car park for the Servei Estacio (a home-wares store just next to the hostel). The Fundacio Antoni Tapies is on the other side of the street directly in front of the Hostel. It is a red brick building with crazy wires on top! The hostel entrance is the second glass door (with iron bars) after the Servei Estacio. The door has Dolors Junyent Galeria D'Art written on the pane of glass above it. You will see the Hostel sign with the Sant Jordi logo on the wall to the right of the door.
Coming from El Prat Airport (BCN Airport):
Take the Aerobus from the airport to Plaza Catalunya. When you get off the bus in Plaza Catalunya you will be in front of the Corte Ingles building (a very large department store, the size of the entire city block).
Facing the Corte Ingles building, with your back to the street, go to your left. You will be going up the street Passeig de Gracia.
Continue walking up on the right hand side of Passeig de Gracia for 5 city blocks (4 blocks if you walk on the left-hand side) until you come to the street c/ Arago. It is the street just after you pass the Casa Batllo (on the left hand side). Go left on c/ Arago.
Walk on the left hand side of the street (c/ Arago) until you come to number 268. It is just across the street from the very large and hard to miss, red-brick building with strange wires all over the top of it (Fundacio Antoni Tapies). The door has Dolors Junyent Galeria D'Art written on the pane of glass above it. You will see the Hostel sign with the Sant Jordi dragon on the wall to the right of the door.
Coming from Girona Airport:
Take the Barcelona Bus from the airport to Barcelona Nord Bus Station (final destination).
Now follow the directions for 'Coming from Barcelona Nord Bus Station' (below).
Coming from the Barcelona Nord Bus Station:
Once at the Nord bus station you can either take a taxi to the hostel (not too expensive because it's not so far from the hostel) or go with the metro. The metro stop is in the small park just next to the bus station and is named Arc de Triomf.
The metro line at the Arc de Triomf stop is the Line 1 (red). Take the train that goes in the direction Hospital de Bellvitge until the stop named Catalunya.
When you exit the train at the Catalunya stop you will have to transfer to the metro line 3 (green).
With the metro line 3 (green) you need to take the train in direction Trinitat Nova until the stop Passeig de Gracia.
When you exit the train at the Passeig de Gracia stop you need to follow the signs that say sortida (exit) Arago. As you come closer to exiting the metro station the sign will say sortida Arago-Rambla Catalunya. This will bring you to the exit that comes out on the corner of Passeig de Gracia and c/ Arago almost directly in front of the Casa Batllo. It is very important that you exit in front of the Casa Batllo. There are many exits for this metro stop and if you exit in the wrong place you will probably get lost.
Once in front of the Casa Batllo, facing the Casa Batllo with your back to the street, go to your right. The first street you come to will be c/ Arago. Go left on c/ Arago.
Walk on the left hand side of the street (c/ Arago) until you come to number 268. Coming from Sant Estacio Train Station:
Inside of the train station you will need to find the entrance to the metro. It is at the opposite end of the train station from the McDonalds.
Take the metro line 3 (Green) in the direction of Trinitat Nova to the stop Passeig de Gracia.
When you exit the train at the Passeig de Gracia stop you need to follow the signs that say sortida (exit) Arago.
