About Red Lantern House
Red Lantern House is a family-run hostel, housed in a traditional courtyard house in downtown Beijing. We have a range of private and dormitory accommodation in four separate buildings located on the same street. Despite the age of our properties, we offer all the comforts and conveniences of a modern home.
We are located in the largest HuTong preservation area in downtown Beijing, once home to royalty and nobility, close to BeiHai Park, and a short stroll from Lotus Lane, an area popular for its nightlife. There are many shops, restaurants and other amenities in the vicinity of the hostel.
We offer a number of onsite facilities, including bicycle hire, laundry, CD burning, hairdryers and travel assistance, including tours to destinations such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. We have a restaurant and a communal area with drinks, internet access and a DVD player.
Airport transfers are available.

We had a very nice stay. It's a little on the expensive side, but rooms and bathrooms are very clean and there's a lovely common area where you can bring your own food (or order from the hostel retaurant) and we had great nights there talking with other travellers. Walls are thin but it's not a party place and I enjoyed falling asleep tp the voices of my fellow travellers. Highly recommended! Mikael, from Sweden ~ 18th Oct 2009
