Lagan Backpackers is the perfect place to explore and enjoy everything that Belfast has to offer. We have recently expanded into this new and spacious
My idea for a great hostel is very simple: to make you feel at home. To give you a comfortable bed to sleep in, to keep the noise down after eleven to ensure a peaceful sleep and to make you feel so at home that you make new friends and enjoy Belfast as much as possible.
We provide advice on all tours of Northern Ireland, and will only recommend tours that we have personally experienced. We advise that our customers do not pre-book tours before visiting as we find that some tour operators overcharge and do not provide the level of customer satisfaction that we expect for our guests.
In addition to this both Lagan Hostel and Lagan Backpackers hostel are very friendly to single travellers, as we go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay.
We are located minutes from the City Centre, the Lagan River and the picturesque Queens University campus; and mere moments away from the lively Botanic Avenue where there are many restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs for our customers to enjoy. Additionally, the Botanical Gardens that boast beautiful greenhouses and the famed Tropical Ravine is a short walk away, adjacent to the Ulster Museum.
Our staff are friendly and eager to help with any enquiries our customers have about which places to visit in the area, the history of Belfast, or even just the best pub to enjoy a pint of Guinness. We are on hand to provide personal recommendations for popular tourist attractions and tours of Northern Ireland, and are more than happy to organise and book these tours for our guests.
Lagan Hostel has a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere; as our main aim is to ensure our guests feel very much at home. We have full kitchen facilities and a cosy common area where people can eat, relax in front of the television or chat and make new friends.
We provide a free breakfast of toast and cereals from 8am - 10am every morning, and free tea and coffee for our guests throughout the day. There are also laundry services available for a small fee.
We look forward to having you stay with us at Lagan Backpackers, where we will make your experience of Belfast a truly memorable one.

Backpackers wanted for live in job in Backpackers hostel
Coming by train from Dublin:
When the train gets in to Belfast, walk to the opposite side of the platform and take the train one stop back to Botanic Station. That is free.
From Botanic Station:
As you leave the station turn left. Walk until you get to a set of traffic lights. Dukes Hotel will be on your left in front of you. Pass Dukes Hotel (so just go straight). Take the next left. That's Collage Green. About 200 metres or so down it becomes Fitroy Ave. We're on the left at #121. It's about 10 minutes walk only.
From Belfast International Airport:
A taxi from the airport costs around £35.
Alternately, take the airport shuttle, which leaves from the left as you exit the airport (runs every 30 minutes and cost £7) to the Europa bus station.
From Europa Bus Station:
You can walk or take a taxi (but don't pay more than £4.50). If you don't want to take a taxi, walk over to Dublin road and take bus number 7A, 7B or 7C or bus number 29A, 29B or 29C. Get off at the top of Botanic Avenue at the old Theological college. The street running down basically across from the bus stop is called College Green for the first 50 meters then it becomes Fitzroy ave. We are at the top of the street on the left at number 121.
From City Airport:
You can take the airbus to Europa Bus Centre and follow directions as above.
Alternately, a taxi from City Airport will cost around £8.50. Make sure you ask the taxi driver how much it will cost before you take it. Do not take any of the black taxis parked outside - they will charge you £15 or more (and most of the time per person as well)
