Paula's Comfy Little Corner is a great new place to stay in Berlin, home of Paula, one of Berlin's famous hostesses. It has a growing reputation among international travellers. Now, by special invitation, you can stay in the comfy corner with this extraordinary eccentric artist, writer and storyteller.

Paula's is off the noisy tourist treadmill but very close to all amenities, with cafes, restaurants and convenient local shopping at some of the cheapest prices of any western capital city. You can travel quickly and easily everywhere in Berlin and beyond with excellent local transport links.

It is located beside the Kleine Tiergarten Park, in a quiet, leafy corner of West Central Berlin. It is here, on the street with gaz lamps, you can discover one of Berlin's best kept little secrets. Enjoy real Berlin living, 'Wohngemeinshaft' Style, in clean, comfortable, homely accommodation in an old Berlin house, furnished in the inimitable Berlin retro style. For more info please visit our Paulas Comfy Corner site. Guess you know how it :)

Shortly before the end of December 2013 the Berlin Senate decided to demand a “City Tax” from every tourist staying overnight anywhere in Berlin, to come into effect on the 1st January 2014. It must be levied by every hostel. We deeply regret that we have been given no choice about this. Our quoted prices do not include this City Tax on private overnight stays in the city. The City Tax is 5% of the overnight price of all bookings made after 1st January 2014 and paid separately on arrival. You may be able to claim exemption from this tax only if you can prove you are a business visitor and not a tourist.'

BUS 245 From Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main railway station): about 20 min

Take the exit toward 'Europa Platz'. Outside, cross the square and walk to the bus stop, across the road. Check the digital sign for buses due, and take the bus 245, going towards Zoologischer garten.
(You will need a ticket for zones AB it will cost 2.40 and can be bought from a driver. Do not forget to validate it! The ticket gives you unlimited travel on all public transport for 120 minutes.)
Get off at the stop Alt-Moabit / Ottostrasse. From the bus stop at Ottostrasse, go 50 metres on Ottostrasse, turn left onto Zwinglistrasse and 50 metres on the left is Number 39. IN A STRANGE, OLD BERLIN BUILDING!!

TO GET IN - ONLY RING THE BELL 'HEINZMANN'.
Please ring NO OTHER bell

We will open the door, come inside and take a lift (elevator) to the 4th floor. There you will see a door WITH FLOWERS with the name 'HEINZMANN'. Please ring this bell!

(Taxi from Hauptbahnhof. A taxi to our door costs 7-10 and takes up to 4 persons.)

From Tegel Airport (TXL). Inside City of Berlin: about 20-30 min

You should take the bus number TXL (Tegel) and get off at Turmstrasse/ Beusselstrasse. You will need a ticket for zones AB it will cost 2.40 and can be bought from a driver. Do not forget to validate it! The ticket gives you unlimited travel on all public transport for 120 minutes.
From the bus stop on Turmstrasse, walk onward to the first corner, turn right, onto GotskowskiStrasse, 150 meters on the left, is Zwinglistrasse. Go straight ahead to the end near the park, and we are on the right side, as shown on the map!

ONLY RING THE BELL 'HEINZMANN'.
Please ring NO OTHER bell

From Schoenefeld airport (SXF). Outside of City of Berlin: 1.5h (up to 2.5h after 23h)

Leave the airport terminal, on foot and walk along the covered foot path through the small park, to the train station where you go down the stairs to walk under the platforms.

(Do not forget to buy a ticket from the machines there is a selection of languages to help choosing the right one. You will need a ticket for ABC zones it will cost 3.10 and gives you unlimited travel on all public transport for 120 minutes.

Take the regional bahn (RB train) the large, fast, red train to Berlin from the far end of the station. This is the train with an upstairs level, its the airport express, taking about 40-45 minutes.

Go to Hauptbahnhof (Hbf. = Central Station). Then please follow 'From Berlin Hauptbahnhof' instructions (your ticket for ABC zones is valid here).
