Explora Hostels is designed based on the explora experience, our objective is to make our hostel as welcoming to our customers as possible. That’s why we believe that our hostel should feel like home to every backpacker that comes through our accommodation. Pleas feel free to give us any feedback
Explora Bogota, is located in la candelaria, the colonial part of town. Where almost all the backpackers stay. We have hot water in the showers, and enough clean bathrooms for everyone in the hostel. We also created a social area at the back of the hostel where you have access to a communal kitchen if you are in the mood to cook, or we provide food for our customers in our kitchen/bar which is open 24/7 for our guests. Our accomodations are six bed dorm, four bed dorms and private rooms whith their own bathroom. We have set up enough bathrooms for girls and boys separetly so that you have no inconvenience taking a shower. We can arrange for tour guides throughout the city and the neighbourhood la candelaria. Additinally, we host parties each end of month for our guests with other hostels and if you dont have anything to do, just sit back and relax we will offer you a brew while you watch TV, make new friends or just read a book in our hostel. |

After baggage claim you should look for the taxi stand, which is on the right for international arrivals and on the left for national arrivals. Please give them the our address (Calle 12c # 3-19 or old address Calle 14 # 3 - 19, La Candelaria, Centro Historico) and they will give you a slip of paper with the price that you should pay.
The taxi ride from the airport costs approximately 25.000 pesos (13 USD) between 06:00 and 20:00 and 30.000 pesos (15 USD) between 20:00 and 06:00.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: Some taxi drivers may try to tell you that you should not stay in the Historic Center and that they recommend you stay at a different hotel. Please refrain from taking their suggestion, the location they may take could be questionable and it is generally a hotel/hostel where they receive a commission.
Located Near
La Candelaria is a historic neighborhood in downtown Bogota, Colombia. It is equivalent to the 'Old City', in other cities. The architecture, of the old houses, churches and buildings has Spanish Colonial and Baroque styles. It houses several universities, museums and our hostel of course. Your stay in this pat of the city will transport you to a time somewhere in the past when conquistadores meet modern life.
