Here at Carpe Noctem Vitae we believe in achieving during the day and over-achieving at night
Here at Carpe Noctem Vitae we believe in achieving during the day and over-achieving at night.
Budapest is bursting with amazing cultural activities, so we'll tailor your stay to pack in all the day time fun you can handle, and when night time rolls around we'll be right beside you in the city taking in all the sounds and colors of one of Europe's most eclectic party scenes.
Most travelers don't know what to expect when they come to Budapest, they don't know what there is to see, where to go to eat or how to get the most out of the night. That's why we don't put our staff behind a reception desk. They live on site, eat where you eat, go on the same tours, and definitely party hard with you at night. They are your travelers like you that know exactly what you need and what kind of budget you're working with. They didn't know what Budapest had to offer before they arrived, and now they don't know if another city could ever match it.
As part of the Budapest Party Hostels Brand we are the least wild of the three, we still go out every night drinking, but also offer you a range of different options, and have a great environment with chill areas if you want to stay in too. We offer clean,. bright spacious rooms, with hard to beat security and the real difference, attentive and caring staff who actually take an interest in all parts of your stay in Budapest.
60% of our total floor space is sociable space so that there is a ton of room for you to chill, or play games, meet people or watch dvds. We have a large modern kitchen, for you to cook for yourself or for us to cook for you, as we have in house cook-ups almost every night for just the cost of the ingredients.
We know that Budapest is not just about tours, castles and churches which is why we organise something every night with a group program, but we also can suggest other cultural or party ideas for you as we like to keep ourselves with the finger on the pulse of what is going on in the city. If for any reason you are not interested in the evening event we plan, don't worry as we have a "Do your own thing board where we tell you everything else that's happening in Budapest at night.
We are pretty relaxed and chilled out people who need to be at walking distance of everything from major sights, corner shops, supermarkets, pubs clubs and restaurants, so we have located ourselves in the middle of it all, AND in between major public transport methods too if walking is too far.
We like to personalise the place, so we have decorated it with street artists from Budapest to add some character, then we have added a beer vending machine so you don't have to walk all the way downstairs when you just need a pint.
We have smoking areas for smokers on our terrace overlooking the view of the Basilica, and the rest of it non smoking for non smokers.
We have entertainment central with a darts board, table football, guitar heroes and even chess etc to stop you from getting bored.
But more importantly, we know Budapest inside out and love it, so we want to share why we love it with you. We will spend a long time with you on check in (after we have made you a cup of tea or coffee which is always free) telling you all about what we love, and asking you what you might love. We'll point out all the cool places, places with discounts, sights to see, things to enjoy, culture to soak up and parties to not remember in the morning!
A week with us will include karaoke nights, backpackers' parties, live music with open mic nights, mad epic pub crawls, cheap drink nights and much much more. Of course we are flexible and open to suggestions, so you let us know what you like and we'll see if we can get the group along.
Carpe Noctem Vitae is suitable for single travellers who like to meet people, but also has the space for groups as well, as long as you want to get involved!
We are all native English speakers, live in staff who are sociable, friendly, open, and can't wait to meet you!
Regrettably, due to previous experience, we can no longer accept bookings for people over 40. If you have booked and are outside this age, please contact us and we will help find you alternative accommodation.

We highly recommend that you buy tickets for all public transport. Tickets are available from all metro stations, Relay shops in the basements and often from ticket machines at tram stops. A one way single ticket for the metro, tram, bus or trolleybus costs 320 HUFs. Being caught without a ticket will cost you 6000 HUFs in fines and the controllers can be very intimidating. At the airport you can buy tickets for the train from the tourist information desk. They cost approximately 400 HUFs.
We are located in the heart of the city in the 7th district. It is the old Jewish quarter but now more an area for restaurants and bars.
We are in between 2 major points being Oktagon and Blaha Lujza ter
