With a new and improved location (but the same friendly spirit), East Side Hostel is back in Budapest to provide visitors to Hungary with clean and cosy budget-priced accommodations with a laid-back feeling. Our spacious new facilities are located in the heart of the city within steps of the main railway station, (Nyugati Pályaudvar), on the subway (M3) and major tram (No.4 and 6) lines. Many major Budapest landmarks are in walking distance - not to mention many nightclubs and open-air beer gardens, and the West End shopping mall, making this a perfect base of operations for summertime fun.

Our new building in one of Pest's most central neighborhoods is secure, quiet, and easily accessible from either the airport or Budapest's railway stations, with the nearest underground station located just around the corner. Furthermore, our experienced staff is happy to help you find your way around the city, whether you're looking for Budapest's best museums and cultural sights or for good (and cheap) restaurants and bars.

Whether you're searching for dormitory accommodations, private rooms, or entire apartments, East Side Hostel is Budapest's best choice for enjoying your stay to the fullest. East Side Hostel - the grooviest in Budapest!

When using Budapest's public transportation, make sure you buy tickets beforehand. They cost 320 forints per ride, and are available at the airport and every metro station, also at newsagent's and vending machines. A single ticket is valid for one uninterrupted trip without change on BKV bus, tram, underground, trolleybus, cogwheel railway services on the whole length of the lines but on HV suburban railway only within the administrative boundaries of Budapest. But during the time of validity you can change lines within the metro network (metro lines 1, 2 or 3). It doesn't entitle you to an interrupted trip or for a return trip. On the metro lines, tickets have to be validated before starting your trip and on other vehicles immediately after boarding. You can use them for 60 minutes after stamping, and on the night service for 120 minutes. The ticket has to be presented and handed over on the request of a ticket inspector. A 10-piece discount coupon book is also available for 2,800 forints. Alternatively, if you intend to stay longer, you may opt for a Budapest card or a pass.

You may learn more about the public transport system of Budapest, with all the current timetables and the ticket and pass options with all sorts of additional information at: http://www.bkv.hu/en/ and about the Budapest card here: http://www.budapest-card.com/blue-card.html
