There are many ways to get here! The most traditional way would be by donkey but your vacation would probably be over by the time you arrived!
Flying into Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo you have several options:
1.Rent a car and drive here which takes about 3 hrs
2.We can organize friendly, safe, and English speaking private driver and that will cost $150 USD .
3.Mexican Bus Adventure which will take about 4 hours (3 buses) and cost approx $16.00 USD. If you choose this method, then here’s what you do. Grab your bags and walk outside of the airport, and I mean walk out thru the airport parking lot past the parking toll booth until you are off of the airport property (5 minutes walk). On the main road just outside the airport you can catch “Combi” (this is a small van that picks up and drops off passengers along the way). Ask the Combi driver to drop you off at the “main bus station so you can catch the bus to “Lazaro Cardenas”. It will take 15 minutes from airport to here. So now youre at the bus station, ask to buy a bus ticket to Lazaro Cardenas. This bus ride can take 1.5hr- 2hrs max. Once this bus ride ends in Lazaro, ask one of the staff at this station where to catch the bus to Caleta De Campos. They will direct you to the street where you will catch this bus. It’s just like a 5 minute walk and there are always buses going regularly. This bus ride will take about 1.5 hr. Tell this bus driver to advise you when you are in Caleta De Campos. There are taxis at the entrance of town, any taxi will know the house which is just 6 minutes away. Tell the Taxi driver you want to go to: Juan el Gringo que esta casado con Alfa Mendez. The bus journey here is not that bad, its actually a fun adventure!
If you have found us on the web by accident, then you are in luck!
Caleta De Campos is what I call a true small Mexican town. Caleta translates to Bay in English! The bay of Caleta De Campos is perfect for swimming, fishing, diving, and practicing the sport of surfing! Or if you just want to hang out, there are many local seafood restaurants on the sand where you can have a meal or put back a few beers!
