Shanti rocks. Always has. Always will.

Lying at the foot of Table Mountain, this gorgeous Afro-Victorian mansion has impossibly high ceilings, enormous picture windows, lounging balconies and open sundecks. Once you’ve soaked up the rays, it’s just a few steps down to the swimming pool or up to the Kumasi Bar where you can down some post-expedition fuel in the form of scrumptious breakfasts, lunches, pizzas and snacks. The bar buzzes with groovy tunes and shows all major sporting events on a mega-big screen TV. Give their zooty kitchen a test drive and whiz up an impressive meal. Then whip down to the totally wired and completely 21st century internet café to tell mum all about it. If you’re one of those that believe life’s too short to be anything but stylish, then head over to the decadently divine guest houses next door where you can spoil yourself (and someone else). Looking for an adventure? Visit the incredibly helpful and friendly Travel Centre who will book anything from a shark cage dive to a township tour. Psst. They have a sister lodge in Green Point, so why not stay there too and check out another part of Cape Town?

Prices are per person per night.

When driving from the airport or the Garden Route, just continue along the N2 towards Cape Town city centre. Please make sure you follow directions to Cape Town as we have had newcomers go in the wrong direction. Continue on the N2 for about 10 minutes and as you come up to the mountain keep right and continue towards the city - following the signs. Take the De Waal Drive turn-off to the left when the road forks and continue driving around the mountain. Just off De Waal Drive you need to take the Mill St turn-off. This will take you past a large shopping centre (Gardens Centre) on your left hand side and then you drive through two sets of traffic lights. The next road left (after the second set of lights at Upper Orange Street) is Hof St. It is just before the Mount Nelson hotel, so if you see that you know you have gone too far. We are two blocks up on the left hand side.
