Built from local hardwood trees for the flooring, local bamboo for the walls and home grown grass for the roof - the room can be booked as a double room with the possibility of the extra single bed for $10.00 a night.

There is a separate pit toilet and shower straight from the stream, which acts as a border to the land. The kitchen is separate also and has running water and an open wood fire. If you find that task a little daunting there is also a propane gas tank with a two burner stove.

The house has a double and a single bed and a large porch, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean - a little over a mile away - and the two islets of Castle Bruce bay.
Enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables from the organic garden. Pick your own or meals can be provided for you.

Learn how to pick your own coconuts, make coconut oil, and press your own sugar cane and many other traditional practices. Hummingbirds abound and parrots fly above and below you occasionally, the evening is filled with the sound of the tree frogs and crickets.

Wireless Internet is available and cell phones work. A four-wheel drive car is advisable to access the site and indeed is necessary for sightseeing around the island. Rental can be arranged for you or you can be picked up at the airport on arrival.

Because of the rugged nature of the terrain we suggest it is not suitable to young children or to the elderly who may find it rather hard going. It is best to arrive during daylight hours as it is rather remote and there are no public utilities like lights etc.

We do have solar and hydropower, but weather dependent so may not always be abundant. The joys of sustainable living. Come and try it out. You do have an outside kitchen where you can cook and cater for yourselves using an open wood fire or propane gas and a two burner stove top. We can keep perishable items safe in our fridge, which is in our house about 200 yards away. Or we can cater for all your meals.

Prices are per person per night.

Leaving the village of Castle Bruce and heading in the direction of Roseau, you will pass a large secondary school on your right.

The next turning on your right is a farm access road which will take you after about one mile keeping to the main track and turning neither left or right, will bring you to your hut.

Located Near

We are located about one mile from the village of Castle Bruce in an area locally called Fourmi.
It is rather remote from other houses and therefore has peace and serenity and all the wonderful sounds of nature.

The Carib Territory is about five miles north of us and the land belongs to the Kalinago Carib Indians. In much the same way as the American Indians have their reservations.

Roseau the capital city is about twenty miles south west and takes about forty minutes to reach by bus.
