If driving from Belfast, follow the signs for the M2 and 'the North'. Take exit at junction 1, A26 towards Ballymena/Coleraine
Continue following signs for Coleraine. Stay on the ring road around Coleraine, following signs for 'Londonderry'. After crossing the river Bann there is a shopping area (good for groceries at Sainsburys) the next roundabout is signed for Castlerock to the Right. Follow signs for Castlerock which will bring you to the coast road. Downhill is 1 mile (1 1/2 kms) past Castlerock on the main road A2. The road will go steeply downhill to the sea, and the hostel is on the right. The entry is immediately before going onto the beach.
If driving from Derry/Londonderry, follow the A2 signs for Limavady/Coleraine.
You will pass the City of Derry Airport, and several small villages. At the first roundabout after Ballykelly turn left (signed for Benone Strand/Downhill & Magilligan Point Ferry). At the 'T' junction turn left continue until you come to Downhill. The hostel will be directly in front of you by the entrance to the beach.
Public Transportation: If you are coming from Belfast or anywhere on the North Coast you will want to take a bus or train to Coleraine then on to Caslterock. If you are traveling by bus you can continue to Downhill and get off right in front of the hostel on bus route #134 that go on to Limavady. If you are taking the train, you will get off at Castlerock then walk or taxi to the hostel. If you are coming from Derry you can take the bus to Limavady then on to Downhill or take the train to Castlerock. This is a particularly beautiful train journey along the coast and is much faster than the bus.
Close to Giant Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Distillery and Magiligan Point Ferry.
