The hostel is located 200 meters north of the townhall, just off the main street.
We are the most centrally located hostel in Chernivtsi opposite the famous blue Town Hall and by far the easiest hostel to find We are English and Ukrainian owned we are also staffed 24/7 every day of the year and the largest hostel with private rooms in Chernivtsi. The code on the front door is 1 and 7 and pressed at the same time! Please remember smart travellers book online! ( around 10 tourists per week during the summer 2012 season came to our hostel at midnight only to stand outside a locked door for 30 mins because they did not think to write down the door code, and then to be turned away because we were fully booked and they did not think to book the only hostel in the city before they arrived) Please book online!! We can arrange online train ticket reservations. TIU backpackers is the only hostel with Air Conditioning in Chernivtsi Our hostel has a communal area with TV, DVD and computers that guests can use, fully equiped kitchen with the dining area to sit down and have a meal, Our hostel has an independent hot water and heating system so we have hot water and heat all year around. Our staff are fluent in English, Russian, Spanish languages. We offer 10 % discount to all of the Peace Corps volunteers, We can give advise on connections and help buying tickets to Romania, Lviv, Kiev, Kamyanets Podilski, Moldova and camping in Carpatian mountains. We have cycle hire and can arrange drop offs in the mountains for mountain bike excursions. We can arrange guided camping trips to the mountains, bicycle hire and camping equipment hire We have English speaking movies and TV channels and a DVD library. Directions to the hostel: when coming in to Chernivtsy by train, you can take a taxi to the hostel (2 Sheptytskogo Apt.3) or take a trolleybus up the mainstreet and get off at the first stop and then walk up the mainstreet another 200 meters and take the exit as indicated on the map. If you are in for a good exercise, you can walk up the hill (follow the same route as the trolley buses), follow Gagarina street and take the street to the left as indicated on the map. This walk will take you approx. 15 minutes.
From the Bus Station
With your back to the bus station turn right along Holovna street take the 21st turn to the right walk 12 meters along the right hand side of the street and take the brown door on the right the code on the door is 17 at the same time
