The AAE Chicago is ideal for short term and long term housing of students and young professionals completing an internship in Chicago. Our location is one of the leading factors in why many med students, interns and foreign J1 Visa Employees choose us. Located in the famous and trendy 'Bucktown' neighborhood, we are surrounded by popular eateries, coffee shops, clothing stores, night clubs, music venues, discount grocery stores and specialty shops. The CTA ( Chicago's 24/7 Subway Ssystem) has a 'Blue Line' stop less then a block from our door! From the Blueline CTA at Damen St- you can be at UIC in minutes, downtown at the city center in just 3 stops and directly into and out of O'Hare at the terminal without any transfers! Our accommodations offer amenities that most short and long term visitors desire. The 'private rooms' are spacious, include all new furnishings with double size beds, desks, lamps and free wifi service. All rooms include use of a large gourmet kitchen with an abundence of cutlery, pots and pans, dishes etc. Common areas include eating areas, lounge room and outside decks. We also are one of the only short term housing options that offer free parking for our guest. Our Apartments have all of the above amenities with the additional benefits of having your own bathroom and kitchen within the unit. Parking is also included at our apartments. While the environment is quiet and a perfect place to escape and study or work at home, all guest are allowed to visit our main reception desk at IHSP- only 2 blocks away- and socialize with other European Travelers. Our main reception has foos ball, pool table, free breakfast, free computers and laundry equipment. We also have a big screen TV with movies and TV shows on demand. We also offer 'dormitory' accommodations to short term students that are on an extreme budget. These dorm rooms do require that you meet certain guidelines and local Chicago Residents are not allowed. You can contact our Students Program Director to see if you qualify for a dormitory room or bed. We offer roomate matching services as well, and can introduce you to another person from your same region, or that is interning with the same company if you prefer. This reduces the cost of a private room in 1/2 for each person. After landing, follow the signs directing you to the CTA. Buy a ticket ($2.25) and board the train. Exit the train at Damen. Take the stairs down and exit the station onto Damen Ave. Turn left and walk past 'City Soles' and through the three-way intersection. Stay on Damen Ave. passing a large white 'bank' building- we are in same building as Feast Restaurant and directly across the street from the AT&T store. IHSP signs on door

From Midway Airport:
After landing, follow the signs directing you to the CTA. Buy a ticket ($2.25) and board the train. Exit the train at Clark/Lake stop and look for signs directing you to the CTA Blue Line. Take the escalator down to the Blue Line platform. Board the Blue Line train going in the direction of O'Hare. Exit the train at Damen. Take the stairs down and exit the station onto Damen Ave. Turn left and walk past 'City Soles' and through the three-way intersection. Stay on Damen Ave. passing a large white 'bank' building- we are in same building as Feast Restaurant and directly across the street from the AT&T store. We will reimburse you for your CTA ticket when you arrive.
From AMTRAK Train Station:
Exit the station and turn left on Canal St. Walk south on Canal St. past Jackson Blvd. and turn right on Van Buren St. Walk west on Van Buren St. for one block then turn left on Clinton St. Look for the Clinton CTA Blue Line station underneath the highway overpass. Buy a ticket ($2.25) and board the train going in the direction of O'Hare. Exit the train at Damen. Take the stairs down and exit the station onto Damen Ave. Turn left and walk past 'City Soles' and through the three-way intersection. Stay on Damen Ave. and walk north fpassing a large white 'bank' building- we are in same building as Feast Restaurant and directly across the street from the AT&T store We'll reimburse you for your CTA ticket when you arrive.
From Greyhound Bus Station:
Exit the station and walk east. Turn left on Clinton St. Look for the Clinton CTA Blue Line station underneath the highway overpass. Buy a ticket ($2.25) and board the train going in the direction of O'Hare. Exit the train at Damen. Take the stairs down and exit the station onto Damen Ave. Turn left and walk past 'City Soles' and through the three-way intersection. Driving: Once you arrive at the 1616 N. Damen Ave, pull in front of building and leave flashing lights on, come up to 2nd floor at reception and tell receptionist you have a car. We will have you use our registration parking spot for check in. These apartments and rooms come with free parking
