Welcome to Around The World Backpackers. We are a small, friendly, family-owned and run backpackers approx. 5 mins from the heart of Christchurch. What we provide to our guests...* Free internet; WiFi is available in your room @ .10c per MB; * Free BBQ on Wednesdays; * Free tea and coffee;* TV lounge with SKY TV and DVD's; * Library and board games; * Laundry;* Large fully-equipped kitchen;* Unisex and women's only bathrooms;* Garden with BBQ area, hammocks and herb/veggie garden.* Bicycles for hire - $5 for 4 hours; $10 full day. If you have been travelling for some time or are embarking on your journey through NZ - come and stay at Around The World. We can provide a safe, quiet and relaxing "home away from home."Dorms - All our dorms have only 4 beds - no large dorms!We also have a twin room (2 single beds) and double rooms. **Summer Special** Stay 7 nights, pay for only 6 (conditions apply). Office hours: 9:00am to 9:00pm.Please note: No check ins after 10:00pm.

Once you have made your payment, NO REFUNDS will be made (unless in exceptional circumstances).* CANCELLATIONS - We require 48 hrs notice of your cancellation. If you cancel within the 48hr period you will be charged the equivalent of 1 night's accommodation.* NO SHOW - You will be charged the equivalent of 1 night's accommodation.* Check out - 10am. If you want to stay longer, you will need to notify us prior to checking out.* We provide all linen. No sleeping bags to be used in beds.* No smoking in rooms or anywhere inside the building - smoking is allowed only in designated area outside.* ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED IN MODERATION. No consumption of alcohol on our premises after 11:00pm - NO EXCEPTIONS. We will not tolerate drunken behaviour.* No cooking allowed after 11:00pm.* Quiet zone between 11pm and 8am. * Please respect our property and the property of your fellow travellers. |

We are an approx. 20 minute drive from Christchurch International Airport. Barbadoes St is a one-way street heading south. Some CBD streets are not accessible due to the closing down of the city centre for repairs/demolition of buildings - please see this link for more information - http://cera.govt.nz/cbd-red-zone/red-zone-cordon-map Cheapest travel to/from Airport to our hostel: http://www.steveshuttle.co.nz/STEVE'S SHUTTLES: Call Free phone #: 0800 10 10 21 for pickups. AIRPORT PICKUPS: $18 per for 1 person (each way) and then $5 for each extra person. FROM HOSTEL PICKUPS: $14 per for 1 person (each way) and then $5 for each extra personJust call any FREE call number when you arrive at Christchurch airport to organise time and place for pick up. Shuttles from our Hostel to the airport can be booked with us.
