We are located 400 meters up a hill from main town, walk distance to the beach. Vehicle recommended, and in raining season 4 wheel drive needed. (We can arrange any kind of vehicle rental for you).
From San Jose, take the Caldera Highway west to Puntarenas. From there, take the ferry across the Gulf of Nicoya to the town of Paquera.
Call ahead to check for schedule changes. (Ferry: Naviera Tambor tel. 2661-2084)
From Paquera, drive about 20 miles to Cobano, where you�ll follow signs for seven miles to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa.
There are two air companys that fly from San Jose To Tambor.
-ww.flysansa.com : With flight from the international airpot Juan Santa Maria
-www.natureair.com : With flight from the airport of Pavas. (45 mints aprox from the international airport Juan Santa Maria)
One private transfer will pick you in the airport of San Jose and they will take you directly to Canaima Chill House Hotel.

When you arrive to Tambor airport you will have to pick a taxi to Canaima Chill House Hotel.

In the terminal of buses Coca Cola in San Jose you have to take the direct bus with destiny to Mal Pais - Santa Teresa.
Schedule from San Jose to Mal Pais: 6am � 2pm.

The bus brings you directly to Mal Pais - Santa Teresa.
In Puntarenas however you have to leave the bus and walk on the ferry for the trip across the Gulf of Nicoya.
They will give you 2 tickets, one for the ferry and the other one to take the bus again when you arrive to Paquera.( The bus is going in the same ferry).
You have to get of the bus at Brunelas in Playa Santa Teresa.
