With access to a network of off-road walking and cycling routes, it's a comfortable, child-friendly retreat and provides a perfect base for family rambles. The famous Dartmoor ponies often pay us a visit from the open moorland always a favourite with visiting children. *** IMPORTANT - YHA is a charity aiming to inspire all, especially young people, to broaden their horizons, gaining knowledge and independence through new experiences of adventure and discovery. In support of this aim, YHA is a membership organization and all prices quoted on this website are members rates. A non-member supplement equivalent to GBP 3.00 per person per night will be charged on arrival for those guests not in possession of a valid YHA (England & Wales) Ltd or equivalent IYHF/ Hostelling International membership card. *** |

Train information:
Exeter St Davids 26 miles or Plymouth 25 miles
Ferry information:
Roscoff (France) and Santander (spain) to Plymouth. Plymouth ferry port is 25m from the hostel.

High Moorland Visitor Centre Free admission to the Centre, where you will find extensive, modern, interpretative displays about Dartmoor, its history, culture and wildlife, as well as a gallery with regularly changing exhibitions and a small auditorium where visitors are able to watch various short films about Dartmoor.
