From Den Helder train station take the bus nr. 32 to the harbour to catch the ferry. For schedules please ring De TESO on +31(0)222-369691/369692. The trip takes about 20 minutes. On Texel take bus 28 and get off at the busstop at the Elemert in main village Den Burg.
Take the ferry from Den Helder to Texel. When you get to the island, follow the Pontweg. Take the right at exit 6 and take the first left again and follow the signs to the hostel.
Texel has been called a miniature version of the Netherlands thanks to its incredibly diverse landscape featuring polders, dunes, woods, marshes and of course expansive beaches. The ever-changing nature De Slufter reserve is an amazing experience in any season. The best way to explore Texel is by bicycle on countless well-planned routes. During your journey, stop by Ecomare to learn about the Wadden and North Sea, and donÂt miss the Juttersmuseum and Sheep Farm museum. From May through September take a ferry to neighbouring island Vlieland for a day or more.
