Ionad Siul is a Large Guesthouse located in the heart of Glencolmcille, Co. Donegal. Located within walking distance of all local attractions and amenities, we provide accommodation on a self-catering or Bed and Breakfast Basis. Our friendly staff are always at hand to ensure your stay with us is an enjoyable and pleasant experience. During the summer months and on request during the off peak season, we provide guided walks of the many walking routes locally, including the infamous One Man's Pass on Sliabh Liag. For more information on Guided walks, and other activities in the area please do not hesitate to contact us. We have an outdoor terrace or lounge to meet other guests or just relax.

We are situated at the western extremity of the Sliabh Liag peninsula, in the wonderfully remote parish of Glencolmcille. In a landscape of timeless beauty lies the remnants of ancient past-pagan and Christian, rooted in quiet contemplation on hillside, valley, bog and isle. The area hosts approximately eighty documented archaeological sites spanning a period of 5000 years including important examples of virtually all monument types known nationally. Glencolmcille is a Gaeltacht area and the Gaelic language is still in common use here. Oideas Gael, the Ulster Cultural Centre was established in the area in 1984 to promote the language and Irish culture. Today, it is world renowned and plays host to visitors from all over the world who come to learn Irish at all levels, as well as attending other courses run by the centre, including Archaeology, painting, Folklore, traditional dancing, fiddle school etc. The area is a mecca for traditional Irish music and Cairdeas na bhFidilir run a fiddle school in the first week in August every year, known as 'fiddler's week'. For the hillwalker, Glencolmcille is a paradise. Its stunning landscape and sense of splendid isolation combine to make walking here a special experience.

Our rooms come in single, double, twin and family rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. All linen is provided free of charge. There is a communal kitchen, dining, and lounge area for our residents' use. We also provide free Wifi internet access for all our guests.
