Housed in a converted church in Edinburgh's West End, close to Dean Village and Water of Leith, Belford Hostel offers good quality accommodation at budget prices to students and backpackers. We are just a short walk from the shops of Princes Street and the nightlife of the new town.
We have double and twin private rooms and dormitories set in the old church hall, complete with stained glass windows. Facilities include a bar, a BBQ area and a common room.
We do not have a curfew.

Please Note - The hostel will charge your card the full amount 1 month before arrival if under 1 month within 24hrs of booking being made. Cancellations - 1 month > 14 days before arrival we will retain 25% or the first night - Less than 14 days notice no refund will be given.
We have a 48hr cancellation policy. Late cancellations shall be charged the equivalent of the first nights accommodation. No-shows shall be charged the full amount of the reservation.
During the month of August, the hostel will charge your card the full amount one month before arrival. If you will be arriving in less than a month the charge will be made within 24hrs. There is a £10 key deposit for all guests.
We accept all major credit/debit cards, but do charge a minimum 50 pence transaction fee, with a credit card charge of 2%.
Photo ID (drivers licence, passport) is required to check in to the hostel. If youre unable to produce photo ID on arrival we will not honour your booking.

Groups of six or more people may be subject to a £20/person security deposit which will be refunded upon departure, pending a room check and appropriate behaviour.
Smoking is now illegal in all public places; thus, the hostel is 100% non-smoking. There is a minimum charge of 50 if you smoke in this hostel.

Catch the �Airport Express Bus� Number 100, to Haymarket Station. Walk east towards the city centre for about 200m and turn left down Palmerston Place (just before the Starbucks). Pass St Mary�s Cathedral on your right; go through the sets of traffic lights down the hill (the street now is called Douglas Gardens). Belford Hostel is on the right hand corner at the bottom of the hill, before the bridge.
From Waverley Train Station
When you exit the train station turn left onto Princes Street (Castle should be on your left...unless they've moved it). Continue along Princes Street which eventually turns into Shandwick Place. Continue down this road and turn right into Palmerston Place. Our funky church is located at the end of this street. Your other option is to catch a cab at a taxi stand just outside the station. A cab ride will cost you approximately �4.00.
From Haymarket Train Station
Exit the train station and turn right towards the city centre. Continue along West Maitland Street and turn left onto Palmerston Place (just before the Starbucks). Continue along this Street and we are located in the Church at the end.
Located next to the Water of Leith and right near the Ancient Dean Village. The Belford Hostel is only a short 5-7 minute walk from Princes Street and the New Town.
