This very popular, well established hostel has catered for groups and solo travellers, parties, educational trips and even families for the past 5 years. The Hostel accommodation comprises 10 bedrooms located over 2 floors and our range of rooms covers a triple room for those seeking a little more privacy to our 16 bed dormitory rooms. Refurbished in 2010, we have upgraded our facilities and décor to bring The Hostel to the top end of the hostelling world. The Hostel prides itself on being a safe and hassle free environment and our facilities include, 24 Hour CCTV in operation, 24 Hour access key card security entry, No curfew, Free Internet Access from 8am until 11pm, Hot Showers, 24 Hour Free Wi-Fi, Free Tea & Coffee Facilities, Pool Table, Lounge with Digital TV, FREE Luggage Storage, Laundry (wash and dry for £2), Continental Breakfast, Outside Patio Area ideal for reading or sunbathing in the warmer months! Loch Ness & Highland tours booking facility and Friendly & Informative Staff. There is a compact kitchenette, although with such a choice of restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets in the immediate locality, there is little need for self catering! First stop has to be our sister hotel, The West End Hotel located less than 5 minutes walk away where guests off The Hostel will receive 20% off their bill. Group Bookings The Hostel is ideal for all types of group bookings! With our self catering facilities, top of the line security system, brilliant city centre location and variety of rooms/dorms we are the perfect choice for school, college or university groups travelling to Edinburgh. If you are planning a trip away with a group of friends and want a hassle free holiday let us help you organise your time in Edinburgh with our fantastic contacts for tours and restaurants. Things to Note Please note the female dorm is only available for booking by females. If a male books this room your booking will be cancelled and the deposit will not be refunded. All other dorms are mixed sex. Triple rooms consist of lower double bed and upper single bunk. Family rooms consist of 3 single bunks and 1 lower double bunk. **Please note that there are no electrical sockets in the dormitories. Unfortunately this is because of electrical appliances such as irons & hair straighteners being left on and carpets were being ruined. This is a health and safety risk and to ensure the safety of all our guests, electrical sockets are supplied in the public areas and hairdryers and hair straighteners are provided in the bathrooms. Phones can also be charged in the public areas and in reception** Check-in from 13:00 - 23:00p.m. Check-out 10:00am All guests must present photo Identification on arrival All reservations are payable in full on arrival, no refunds given All cancellations of bookings MUST be made 48 hours in advance. I.E. At the latest 10.am 2 days before date of arrival. E.G. Cancellations for Friday arrival must reach us by 10.am Wednesday. For New Year reservations a 50% deposit is required to secure the reservation and the balance is payable 4 weeks prior to arrival. No amendments are allowed on or after arrival and all balances paid on or before arrival and are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please no under 16's unless in private rooms or a group booking. Late check-in available for £5. You must call us at least 48 hours in advance to advise of a late arrival. We ALL LOVE SLEEP, so we operate a Quiet time Policy from 2300 - 0800! Staff wake-ups are charged at £10 each time for non emergencies. Any reservation of 8 or more persons is considered a 'Group Booking' - Groups will be asked to pay a £20 security deposit on check in as guarantee against any possible damage to accommodation. This will be returned to you on departure and after room inspection. |

Arriving by train:
The Hostel is located directly across from Haymarket train station. Exit the station and cross the road. The Hostel is located on your left. From Waverley Station follow the below bus instructions.
Arriving by bus:
From the airport, take LRT shuttle bus number 100 and alight at Haymarket Station. We are located directly opposite the station. From St Andrews Street Bus station it is a 25 minute walk or take LRT bus number 12, 26 or 31 from the gardens side of Princes Street and alight at Haymarket.
Arriving by Air:
Take the LRT shuttle bus 100 from outside the terminal building and alight at the Haymarket station.There is an airport bus link back to the airport directly across from The Hostel.
Arriving by Car:
Approaching from Glasgow or the A8 (Edinburgh Airport), follow the A8 to Edinburgh city centre until you reach Haymarket Station and The Hostel is located on your left hand side. Car Parking is available at Morrison Street NCP Car Park, 6-24 hours is �9.50. Prices are subject to change.
Arriving on foot:
From Princes Street head towards Frasers department store at the West End. Continue straight along Shandwick Place then straight onto West Maitland Street, towards the Haymarket clock tower. Pass Grosvenor Street on your right hand side and The Hostel is located on your right, directly opposite Haymarket Station. Approx 20-25 min walk.
