David Inn is a small, friendly hostel, in the heart of Florence. Situated between Michelangelo's David and the Duomo, and less than a 15 minute walk from the train station - there is no better location. The hostel is housed in an 18th century palazzo with a view of the dome - there's a functioning elevator if you didn't fancy walking up all the stairs. Recently redecorated and refurbished this bright, airy hostel has 3 dormitories (2 mixed and 1 female only with ensuite bathroom), and 2 private bedrooms (2 beds in each room). On the third floor there's a kitchen and comfy seating in the reception area where you can make use of the free wifi or library. There are internet points with new computers, webcam, and headphone sets which are free of charge. The private bedrooms are on the first floor of the palazzo with a separate kitchen and bathroom. All bedding is already set up for you, but there are no towels available to rent so please remember to bring your own. The english speaking staff are happy to chat and give you ideas of things to see, places to go, the best cheap eats, and where else to have a good time. There is no curfew or lock out so you can come and go as you please. Free maps are available on arrival. We only accept cash - sorry for this inconvenience. If you want to cancel your booking, please let us know at least 1 day in advance of your reservation. From Santa Maria Novella Train Station:
Take the left exit of the station. Cross the street and turn right. Go straight, following the large road, Via Panzani. Continue going on for approximately five minutes until you're on the left side of the big Cathedral. Via Ricasoli is the first street on the left. In a minute you'll reach us at number 31, just across from the ice cream shop.
Ring the second buzzer pull-bell from the top, inscribed �David Pull�. Take the lift and come up to third floor. If you get lost call us !!
IMPORTANT: When you get off the train do not listen to the hotel sellers!! Be aware that at the train station, you may be approached by people trying to direct you or to offer you a different place. These people are quite possibly thieves or hustlers, so be alert... we do not have staff based at the train station so just come directly to the hostel or call us if you need assistance.
From Campo di Marte Station:
Take bus number 33 just in front of the station. You�ll pass a big square with a garden and an arc, then the bus will take a long road, which is via Cavour. Get off at the third stop on that road, or simply tell the driver you want to get off in Piazza San Marco.
There you must go to the opposite side of the square (where you can see a porch) and you�ll find Via Ricasoli - we�re at number 31, just in front of the ice cream shop.
From Florence Vespucci Airport:
There�s a shuttle bus going from the airport to the main train station Santa Maria Novella. From there follow directions as above.
From Pisa Galilei Airport:
A train leaves from the airport to Pisa Centrale; from there you can take the train to Florence Santa Maria Novella. From there follow directions as above.
