Surfer's Haven Guesthouse
Our location (a 7-minute walk from Surfer's Beach) and our spectacular ocean view are the first things that attract our guests.
Surfer's Haven is for the adventurous traveler looking for a unique experience. There is a REMOTE feel here.
Our island of Eleuthera is stunningly unspoiled. We offer mountain bike, surfboard and mask/snorkel rentals. Or guests can hop aboard one of our adventure tour mini-trip specials.' This is a 2-3 hour excursion we run when the schedule allows featuring activities like a drift snorkel down Current Cut and cliff jumping. Half-day and full-day trips also offered at a discounted rate.
The guesthouse offers large decks for sunbathing, yoga or napping in our hammocks. Our 'apartment' room has its own balcony, full bathroom, kitchen and queen bed. The apt. has a private entrance and with it's million dollar view is one of Eleuthera's best deals! Studio One has a queen bed and Studio Two has two single beds. They share a bathroom and open up onto the biggest deck of the house. All the above rooms come equipped with a fridge.
The campsites are in a shaded corner of the property. Campers have kitchen and bathroom access. We have tents and equipment for an additional charge.
NEW! The Surf Shack is $200/week, $30/nite. For the budget-minded only. Great for some but not for everyone! It's a small shack with some nice amenities but water must be toted from your tank out back for flushing toilet and showering.
Please note during our summer season (June-Sept.) that the guesthouse is not air-conditioned. It can be hot here! We do now offer two rooms with A.C. We do offer two fans for each room.
Groceries in the Bahamas are PRICEY and budget-minded guests can bring grocery items with them. In the spirit of hosteling the main house offers full kitchen access (with deep freeze), a library, dartboard, foozball table, t.v. and communal living areas. Airlines will let you bring a cooler too!
Poker night is Monday nite at the Sugar Apple (walking distance)! BBQ & Pizza nights are also sometimes scheduled! Movie Night-Bring some DVDs please! Surf movies accepted as barter! We could use a recent surf mag too =)
JAM NITE is Wednesday - also within walking distance!

DirectionsShow MapHide Map
There is only one road that travels the entire length of the island - the Queen's Highway. No traffic lights and keep left!
From the north
1. We are 2 miles south of Gregory Town and about 30 minutes south of North Eleuthera Airport (ELH).
2. You\'ll see a red-lettered Surfer\'s Haven sign on your left - but go past this there\'s a better road about 200 yards past it.
3. Take the next left (it\'s a newly paved road) after you go about 200 yards past our sign.
4. Head down this road and pass a big yellow building on your right (Surfer\'s Manor hotel).
5. Take the third left after you pass the Manor. We have a small sign on a telephone pole at the intersection.
6. Go down that road about 200 yards and thru a bumpy intersection. We are right there on the right - white building with blue/green trim. Park alongside road on the left, not in yard =)
From the south
We are 3 miles north of Hatchet Bay, 30 minutes north of Governor's Harbour Airport (GHB). When you see our red-lettered sign that says 'Save Lighthouse Point' and our Adventures logo you have gone too far. We now encourage guests to take the paved road to the south in.
So back up about 200 meters. And skip to no. 3 above in 'From the north'
You can also spot this paved road before you go past it on your right. Look for small white rectangular signs for the Surfer's Manor hotel about 3 miles north of Hatchet Bay.
This paved road is also about a ¼ mile after you see signs for Gregory Town and Eleuthera Island Shores.
REPEAT: Come in the paved road 200 meters south of our sign on the Queen's Highway. Then third left after you pass Surfer's Manor.
WE ARE THE NORTHERN HALF OF ELEUTHERA (GOOGLE EARTH IS WRONG!) Harbour Island (30 min. drive), Nassau (15 min. flight or 2 hour boat ride), Gregory Town (2 miles), Surfer's Beach (7 min. walk).
We are in a neighborhood called Eleuthera Island Shores 2 miles south of Gregory Town. Walk to a great north-side beach - Surfer's Beach - yes there are waves.
We are somewhat remote but that is the beauty of coming to an out island.
We are about half way: Governor's Harbour & North Eleuthera airports.
