Currently, there is a good bus service to Tonosi from Panama City, the main bus terminal at Albrook. It is only a few times a day, but saves one from having to change buses in Las Tablas. The bigger more comfortable touring bus from Panama City to Las Tablas is $8 but you have then to take a cab to the other, local bus terminal to get the bus to Tonosi. Not all buses to Las Tablas are touring buses, some are coaster buses and have limited storage space for luggage and surf boards. The buses to Tonosi from Las Tablas are also coaster buses.
It costs $11 each way Panama City to Tonosi.
Once in Tonosi, you can take the bus to Guanico Abajo which runs a few times a day and costs $2 per person, each way. Or take a cab from Tonosi to Guanico for about $6.
Check also about rent-a-cars or domestic flights to Chitre or Pedasi.
Permanent sun and waves, clean and tropical waters together with warm and friendly people of Los Santos create the chilling atmosphere comparable with the summer of California of the late 70ies. All surf spots located in the province of Los Santos have a similar swell exposure like Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Unlike other locations, Los Santos still provides empty line ups and secret surf spots. Hence we are excited to be the first surfcamp in Panama, located directly at the beach.
