The clean, pretty and friendly option in the historic center of Guate city. Guate is the largest city between Puebla and Medellin. We'll help you discover and enjoy this place and it's unique music and arts scene.

The hostel in is a big old adobe house. Rooms are off a traditional hallway. Showers and toilets are shared, except for the suite. The living room is filled with pictures of past and present Guate city events and celebrities. We've got a linux based computer you can use for virus-free surfing. We project independent and local films every tuesday night and have live concerts at least once a month. We rent bikes with character for cruising the city's new bike paths and enjoying "Pasos y Pedales," a Sunday tradition.
Prices are per person per night.

From the airport: a taxi will know how to get here and should charge no more than $10US. Let us know your arrival time one day ahead and we'll pick you up.

Driving from Antigua: Take the periferico all the way to the first exit south off calle Martí onto the 6a Avenida (aka Simen Cazas). You'll notice a big park. Turn right before the La Torre supermarket. Go two blocks. Turn left. Go straight two blocks. We're on the right before the twist in the road.

Driving from Coban or Rio Dulce: stay on the highway which becomes calle marta. You'll pass a McDonalds, then five blocks later a pedestrian crosswalk bridge. Get in the left lane before the crosswalk bridge. After the bridge, there's a left-turn light. Turn left and go south onto 6a Avenida (aka Simen Cazas). You'll notice a big park. Turn right before the La Torre supermarket. Go two blocks, then left. Go two blocks and we're on the right.

Driving from El Salvador: stay on the highway until you go under the Obelisco. Turn north (right) on 7a avenida. You will only need to turn off 7a avenida once you're in zone 2, but 7a avenida has a few twists to it. The first will be when you get to the civic center. You must go around a fountain and then take the street to the right of the Burger King. The next big landmark is the central plaza. Common sense will guide you through that twist. When you pass a shell gas station on the right, count two blocks. Turn left before the 'Tienda Israelita'. That's 2a calle. Go three blocks. You can park before the street dead-ends. We're just off to the right.

We'll soon have a TransMetro stop a few blocks away. That's still under construction, though.

Located Near

Jocotenango is the calm and livable part of the historic center. Many local artists live in the neighborhood. Some next door. We are near the famous Mapa en Relieve and less famous landmarks that are even more worthwhile. We are two blocks from Parque Morazan and four from Parque San Sebastian. Two blocks away is the new sixth avenue with broad sidewalks and a bike path that leads to the city's main square (about 7 blocks away -- blocks in guatemala are 100 meters or 300 feet long).
