In Tangara House guests are welcomed to plants, artwork and comfortable rooms. A calm place in the midst of bustling Guayaquil. Safe, friendly, independent and relaxed atmosphere. Rather than staying in a room, you have a house to share with other guests; to feel at home and close to the local life.

Tangara is located in a residential neighbourhood of northern downtown. A school, a church and the main university in the city are our closest neighbours.

Guests share the living, dining room and a garden patio, where you can enjoy many local plants and bird species. Kitchen area and its equipment are also available for guests´ use.

Our rates include breakfast (between 07h45 and 10h30; we serve fresh fruit and juice; bread, butter, milk, eggs, cheese, coffee, milk, tea and chocolate), unlimited wi-fi and national telephone calls.

Airport pickup is available for an additional charge; during daytime (07h00-19h00) the fee is USD 10,00 and in the evening (19h00-07h00) is USD 20,00.

Travel information is provided, mainly for communitarian and nature tours to the Ecuadorian coast, Amazonian, Andean highlands and Galapagos islands.

All our rooms have private bathroom, hot water shower, WiFi, national direct dial telephone, cable TV, patio view and air conditioning (except the Basic single private room, which uses a fan and has no telephone or patio view).

Standard single room has one single bed; double has twin beds or one double, triple room has one double and one single bed; Interior room has one bunk bed and the apartment has one double bed, one single bed and two fold out beds.

Prices are per person per night.

If you requested an airport pick up, please look for someone with a sign with your name written, once you leave the luggage clearance area in Guayaquil airport. If for some reason you will do it on your own, you can take a taxi from the airport, most drivers will know where the guest house is.

From the bus terminal many drivers may not know where we are, in which case you should tell them first to go to Ciudadela Bolivariana (name of the neighborhood) which is located close to the University of Guayaquil. Once in the neighborhood, they should look for Manuela Sàenz street (Paralell to Delta avenue, where the university is), which is behind the main entrance of the neighborhood church, and then for the corner of O`Leary street, where you will find a concrete wall with a white fence and a small sign with our name.

Taking public buses in the city is not recommended but, for those who dare doing so, you may check for a bus line called Eben-Ezer, that comes from the bus terminal and the airport and passes along Delta avenue, where you may disembark in front of the university (building of Administrative Sciences), then walk across O`leary street to the corner of Manuela Sàenz.

Located Near

Tangara is located in northern downtown; close to Malecòn del Salado, a waterfront promenade area alongside the main salt water canal in Guayaquil; here starts 9 de Octubre avenue (the main street in the city) which you can follow until the other end, at the river waterfront (Malecón Simon Bolivar, 45 minutes walking or 10 minutes by taxi). The International airport is 6 km. far (10-15 minutes by car).
