Casa Amelia is a beautiful small hostel located right at the seafront, where the sound of the ocean will put you to sleep at night. We hope to share with you that invaluable feeling of having found a truly special place. A place to rest and relax where everything seems to be just right!
Casa Amelia is all about feeling at home. The building is made in bungalow-style, with lots of bamboo, wood and straw roofing. Our rooms are spacious, clean and contain comfortable beds and sofas. You can see the sea from your windows and the sound of the waves will make you sleep like never before. We hope guests will appreciate how much effort has been put in to make everything perfect. Our fully equipped guest kitchen, cozy common area with TV, Wi-Fi and guests’ computer give you all the comfort of home. The beautiful garden and roof terraces with sea view give you all you need to relax. There is a book exchange and personal book collection to lend. We are more than ready to help you with all you need in Huanchaco. We have all the information you need for any activity you like to undertake in the surroundings. We know all about surfing if you are up for it and all 3 surf breaks are visible from our front roof terrace. Be welcome and we hope you stay for a while! |

Taxi from Trujillo:
From any point in Trujillo you can take a taxi to Huanchaco (15 soles is a fair price). You can tell the driver to drop you at our address (Av. Victor Larco 1150). A good idea is to include 'dos casas del restaurante BigBen', they all know this restaurant. Casa Amelia has NO sign with its name and drivers will probably not know it. Look for a big black and yellow sign with a backpacker image on it in the palm tree. The location of the doorbell is marked by a smaller version of that same backpacker image on the gate.
Bus from Trujillo:
There are buses going from Trujillo to Huanchaco until around 9 - 9.30 in the evening. It is possible to use them if you are not too heavily packed. It depends on where in Trujillo your bus arrives if you can catch one close by or not. Huanchaco buses are red and yellow and show 'Huanchaco' in big letters.
All buses drive a similar route through Huanchaco. Bus attendants are always friendly and will surely help you if you ask them. Best would be to get out at 'el estadio' (the football field) in Huanchaco. From anywhere in Huanchaco it is just a small walk to Casa Amelia. Just walk to the seafront and follow the directions below.
Casa Amelia is on the road along the seaside at the northern side of Huanchaco, just before the BigBen restaurant. From many places at the seafront the sign of the BigBen restaurant is clearly visible. Casa Amelia is located two houses before. Look for a big black and yellow sign with a backpacker image on it in the palm tree. The location of the doorbell is marked by a smaller version of that same backpacker image on the gate.
Located Near
Casa Amelia is located at the seafront at the northern end of Huanchaco, just there where the noise ends. Supermarkets, surf schools and restaurants are all surrounding us and the best pubs are only a 5 minute walk away. You can safely walk around at any time. A popular surf break is right in front of the property. You can watch the surfers go until sunset from the roof terrace or the beach in front.
