Baikaler Eco-Hostel (Lonely Planet Recommended!) is located in the village of Listvyanka, near Lake Baikal. Built from wood, a well-insulated and energy-efficient material, the place is carefully imbedded into the environment. Our eco-hostel has a warm and inviting atmosphere, setting new standards for comfort and security.The main house has four guest rooms with shared facilities: three twins and one dorm for four people. There are two toilets and one shower. Our fully-equipped kitchen is for common use. Each twin room has LCD TV and multimedia players; there is also a common library for all of our guests.The other solar house has one dormitory room for eight people plus a single room. There are three toilets and one solar shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, a common room with a big-screen TV and a free library of music, films, and photos.No WiFi no InternetWe also have a wonderful Russian banya (sauna) to smooth and relax weary travellers. It is 400R per person per hour, 700R for 2, 1000R for 3 and 1200R for 4 at a time.Our English-speaking staff is here to help, just ask!Welcome to Baikaler Hostel!Please keep in mind that all trains in Russia run on Moscow time (Irkutsk time = Moscow time + 5hr). So if you train ticket says: arrival time is 3 am that in fact means 8am local time.

From the train station (zeleznodorozny vokzal):A) Come out of the train station. Turn right and walk straight 300m, then you'll see the bridge. Walk over the bridge, go straight along the Stepan Razin street (keep walking on the right side!), follow the tram tracks, which will turn left and then turn right on the cornet of Lenin and Gorky street. You are almost there! Cross Lenin street. You will see the hostel building (see its photo below). Do do expect to see any kind of sign on front side of the building! Walk to the back side of the building and find yellow 'baikaler' sign.B) Take a tram (any #) and get off at the 4th stop (in about 7 min). Alternatively, take a bus #70, or minibus #64, 20 and get off at the Art Museum / Khudozestvenny Muzei.Cross the Lenin street, you will see the blue building with NOKIA sign in front of you. This is the building #7. To your right there will be a long coral-violet building # 9 with signs 'OPTIKA', Plane Ticket Agency, VTB24 Bank, walk in its yard, continue walking along the building - our entrance is the 4th from the right corner of the building. The apartment is on the 3rd floor !
