We're a boutique backpacker's hostel located in the heart of KL's historic district. We've lovingly converted a row of colonial-era shophouses into contemporary spaces with an emphasis on natural materials and light. Since opening in July 2009, Backhome has been ranked by Hostelworld as No.1 in Malaysia, as well as one of the Top 3 Hostels in Asia, and Top 10 Hostels Worldwide. What makes us so popular? SPACE. We don't believe in cramping your style. Each guest gets large beds designed with privacy in mind. All beds come with individual reading lamps and powerpoints. Our common areas are bright and airy, so it's easier for you to interact with your fellow guests. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our team is passionate about all things Malaysian, and will do their utmost to share their insider knowledge about local food, customs, and hideouts. SECURITY. We have 24-hour security cameras around the premises, individual lockers and a night-watchman to ensure your safety at all times. CLEANLINESS We have dedicated housekeepers and vacuum our mattresses regularly to ensure that our beds and rooms are exceptionally clean. Facilities include: Powerful hot showers; ample bathrooms and lavatory facilities on two floors. Free high speed broadband, and WIFI. Or you may use our computers at RM1.00 for every 15minutes. **************************************************** 6 AND 8 BED DORMS As 6 and 8 bed dorms cost the same, we wish to remind you that if you have booked any of these dorms - we reserve the right to change your booking from a 6 to 8 bed dorm, or vice versa. This is to ensure that we have the flexibility to make sure all our guests' requests are fulfilled. **************************************************** GROUP BOOKINGS BackHome cannot guarantee that your group will stay in the same dorm. We will always try our best to keep groups in the same dorm. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, this is not always possible. ***************************************************** CHECK-IN TIMES Please take note that our normal check-in time is at 2pm and check-out is at 12pm. Request for early check-in/out is subject to bed availability. *************************************************** LATE ARRIVALS If you are arriving at BackHome between 11pm and 7am, please email us ahead and we will try our best to accommodate your request. Please remember that when you say that you're arriving after midnight on eg. Tuesday 12th October, you're in fact arriving on the NIGHT OF Tuesday 12th October, and NOT after midnight on Monday 11th October. If you didn't realize this, and booked on the following day, please rectify your booking as soon as possible. **************************************************** DEPOSITS We charge a deposit of MYR30 per person upon check-in. This fee will be refunded to you upon your check-out. **************************************************** CHILDREN Children below the age of 12 are not allowed. Children below 18 should be accompanied by an adult. If you have young children traveling with you, please call or email to inform us first. **************************************************** We reserve the right to turn away guests we deem unsuitable. How to get BackHome:
*IMPORTANT : When walking or taking a taxi to BackHome, please note that we are at the top end of Jalan Tun HS Lee, closer to Jalan Gereja and Museum Telekom.
FROM KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA) via:
1) KLIA Express Train:
Possibly the quickest way to get to BackHome, this quick train only takes approximately 30 minutes to get from KLIA to the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station. From the KL Sentral Station, it will only take another 10 minutes to get to the guesthouse. See additional directions below.
- Cost: RM35.00 one way.
- Train runs regularly at about 20 minutes intervals. The first train is at 5.00am and the last train departs at 1.00am from KLIA. For KL Express Train schedule, click here.
2) Airport Coach/Bus:
Take the Star Shuttle to Puduraya Bus Terminal. Bus ride will take approximately 1hr 15mins. From Puduraya bus terminal, it is only a 10 minutes walk to BackHome or you may hail a taxi which should not cost more than RM10.00.

3) Airport Taxi Limo:
Give the taxi driver the address and tell him it is close to the Masjid Jamek LRT station, or Musem Telekom, in Kuala Lumpur. Take note that a surcharge applies for services between 12.00am to 5.00pm.
- Cost: Approximately RM80.00 � RM100.00.
FROM KUALA LUMPUR LOW COST CARRIER TERMINAL (LCCT) via:
1) Airport Coach/Bus:
Buy a Skybus ticket at the arrival hall. The bus takes you to the KL Sentral in the city in approximately 1hr 15mins. The first bus from the airport will leave at 7.00am and the last bus from the airport will leave at 1.15am. From KL Sentral, see below on how to get to BackHome.

1) Light Rail Transit � Kelana Jaya Line (KJL):
At KL Sentral, you need to board the rapid KL Kelana Jaya Line (formerly known as PUTRA LRT) at KL Sentral itself & head towards Masjid Jamek LRT station which is only two stations away from KL Sentral. BackHome is only a short 5 minutes walk away (follow the map).

2) Taxi:
Buy a taxi coupon and give the taxi driver the address and tell him it is near the Masjid Jamek LRT Station, or Museum Telekom. Take note a surcharge applies from 12.00am till 5.00am.

WALKING:-
From MASJID JAMEK LRT STATION:
Backhome is only 2 minutes walk from MASJID JAMEK LRT STATION. When you exit the station, walk along JALAN TUN PERAK. Make sure you are on the same side as MCDONALD�S (opposite BURGER KING). Walk down JALAN TUN PERAK, past GUARDIAN PHARMACY, and then turn into the 2nd street on your left - JALAN TUN HS LEE. You should be able to recognize BACKHOME by our white-washed walls and red banners.
From PUDURAYA BUS STATION:
Backhome is only 5 minutes walk from here. From outside PUDURAYA, walk towards Maybank Tower, and keep to the right-side of this main road (JALAN TUN PERAK). Take the 3rd road on the right, onto JALAN TUN HS LEE. You will recognize BACKHOME by our white-washed walls and red banners.
