Are you looking for a comfortable and affordable home-from-home while you discover the treasures and pleasures of Old Kuching?
Wo Jia Lodge could be just the place you are looking for. We offer style, comfort, atmosphere, value, excellent facilities, and probably the best location in all of Kuching.
If you appreciate Straits Chinese décor and architecture, you will love our elegantly converted 19th Century shophouse, perfectly located on Main Bazaar, Kuchings most historic street, directly overlooking the Kuching Waterfront.
All rooms are newly renovated and feature relaxing colour schemes, comfortable beds with quality linen, secure locks, and brand new (i.e. quiet!) air conditioners and fans. Our guests tell us that our rooms are amongst the most spacious in our market sector, so even if you are travelling with huge backpacks, or lots of communications and camera gear, you are never going to feel packed in like a can of sardines. .Shared guest bathrooms with hot showers are conveniently located on each floor. Our rooms and indoor guest areas are strictly non-smoking, for the health, safety and comfort of all guests, but open-air smoking areas are situated on the 1st and 2nd floors. Please note when doing booking. Standard rooms are aircon, basic rooms are fan and all private dorms are aircon .
Wo Jia is not a party lodge, but it is certainly a place where you can feel at home, relax and chill out after a day touring the city or trekking in the rainforest. Our spacious guest lounge overlooks the Kuching Waterfront and the new State Parliament Building, and is a great place to get to know your hosts , fellow travelers and have a few drinks.
To help your travel budget stretch further, we offer accommodation from less than RM30 per person per night. This is one of the most attractive rates in Kuching and includes a simple breakfast consist of bread or toast with kaya (coconut jam), butter, coffee or tea. In addition, there are no hidden charges for using any of our facilities (except phone and laundry, both charged at cost).
We believe that our range of facilities covers everything the budget traveler could possibly need, and then some. Please see the facilities page for full details.
In our opinion (and most of our guests agree!), Wo Jia Lodge has the best possible location in all of Kuching. We are on Main Bazaar, Kuching's most historic street, directly overlooking the Kuching Waterfront. Other locations may be near to one attraction or the other - Wo Jia is most conveniently located for exploring all the attractions of Old Kuching.
Note before booking:Shared Facilities: Most of our facilities are shared (e.g. bathrooms, kitchen area), in order to keep room rates low. Nevertheless, we believe they are more than sufficient in number to avoid the need for queuing, and they are kept spotlessly clean at all times. Some people without backpacking or hostelling experience may miss the privacy of an en-suite bathroom, and are advised to seek more up market accommodation. However, if you have never used shared facilities before, you will find you are sharing with like-minded, considerate people and, in our experience, the concept is very easy to get used to.

Prices are per person per night.

Where Are We?
We are located on the first row of Chinese shophouses at the western end of Main Bazaar. Look for the distinctive purple paintwork and proceed upstairs to our 1st floor reception area. Our nearest landmark is the UOB Bank, at the beginning of Main Bazaar about 70 metres from us. We are also directly opposite the Sarawak Steamship Building on the Kuching Waterfront
Arriving by Air?
Taxi fare from the airport to Kuching city centre is a very reasonable MYR 23.00 The taxi booking counter is located in the airport arrivals hall and the fare is pre-paid so you don't have the added hassle of bargaining with the drivers. There are also "executive" taxis available (actually small MPVs) for a few Ringgit more, which are worth considering if there are 4 or 5 of you or you have a lot of luggage.
Arriving by Sea?
If you are arriving by express boat from Sibu or Sarikei, the taxi fare will be the same as for the airport, but you may need to call a taxi shortly before you arrive.
Arriving by Land?
If you are travelling by long distance bus, you will disembark at the Penrissen Road Bus Terminal, about 6 km from the city centre. There are frequent buses to the city centre until early evening (ask to be let off near the Main Post Office, 2 minutes walk from Wo Jia Lodge) or you can take a taxi for RM16.
If you are travelling from the Damai resort area, taxi fare is RM50. You can also take a shuttle bus from any of the hotels for RM10 per person; ask the driver to let you off as near to the Main Post Office as possible.
If you are travelling by car, just follow the direction signs to the city centre (Bandaraya Kuching) - all roads lead to Main Bazaar!
Please Note
•All taxi fares are subject to a 50% surcharge between midnight and 6 am.
•We DO NOT have any parking facilities for guests. There is street-side parking in the area (usually full during day and quite empty at night ) or multi-storey car parks in Jalan Mosque or Wayang Street, both about 5 minutes walk.
•Contrary to what some popular guide books state, there is NO bus service from the airport to the city centre.
Kindly sent us a personal email when u done the booking. thanks you
