Located in the traditional Gion district of Kyoto, Gion Shinmon-so is a Japanese-style inn providing comfortable accommodation in private rooms. Each room comes with air conditioning, refrigerator, television, safe deposit box, towels, toiletries, hairdryer, toothbrush set and yukata (light Japanese robe). Bathroom facilities are shared (although it is possible to arrange for a private bath) and we have a large public bath, a true Japanese experience. Gion is one of Japan's most famous cultural areas, and is the home of Kyoto's geisha and maiko. A number of temples and shrines can be found within walking distance, such as Kiyomizu-dera and Yasaka-jinja. The area around Gion is also popular with tourists for its shopping and nightlife, and convenient public transport links make getting around the city easy. Our facilities include a rooftop terrace, a dining room and a souvenir shop. Kyo-kaiseki, Kyoto's local cuisine can be prepared for guests upon request. Bicycles are available for rent.
