Fushimi Inari Shrine = a famous Geisha movie [Memoirs of a Geisha=Sayori] was shot at this place. More than 3000 red Torii gates form a line all over the Inari -mountain. The hostel directions were kind of vague, since they simply said north, south, east, west instead left, right, etc. Otherwise, it was a really great experience.

J-Hoppers was a few blocks walk away from Kyoto station as the closest JR whihc is a bit frustrating with a lot of luggage, however in terms of getting around town it's on a main road which receives the main buslines for sight-seeing. It's quite a cosy hostel with friendly, helpful staff and youthful atmosphere with pics all over the wall of guests' travels. We were in the 7-bed female dorm whcih was a bit cramped but more than adequate for a place to sleep.
