Spend a night at our Friendly Gecko Guest House in Malawi and support the Non-Profit Organization help2kids. Our goal: Socially Responsible Tourism.

Our guest house is located in Leopard Bay right on the shores of Lake Malawi. We have a large garden and community area and offer a convenient and relaxed environment. Malawi and especially our neighborhood are very safe and the people are known for being friendly and welcoming. Our community projects are located close to the guest house and you can reach them within a ten minute walk along the beach. The offered types of rooms: Dormitories, Private Rooms (double, single and twin bed), Private Cottage (double, single, twin bed). The Private Cottage is self-contained, all other rooms have shared bathrooms.All of our rooms are fitted with mosquito nets and fans. Snacks and drinks (water/soda/beer) are always available in the living room. Internet access is available and can be purchased for a low fee.Every day dinner is prepared and available for purchase (USD 3). We prepare a delicious mixture of local and 'Western' dishes.Please note:Cancellation Policy: 1 day before arrival.Check In: 11.00 am.Check Out: 10.00 am.Method of Payment upon the arrival: Cash Only.Breakfast is included.Taxes are included.Please be aware that we only accept USD banknotes issued after the year 2000, as is common practice in Malawi. The state run electricity supply is unfortunately not always very reliable (in average we have 20 hours electricity per day).

We can arrange a pick-up from Lilongwe (USD 100) which takes appr. 1.5 hours. You can also take the bus from Lilongwe to Salima where we can pick you up.

The Friendly Gecko Guest House in Malawi is located in Lifuwu, Leopard Bay, directly at the shore of lake Malawi. From the airport in Lilongwe it takes approximately 1.5 hours to get to us and it costs around USD 100. We are happy to arrange airport pick-up for you.
