KACLLA is the quechua name for the Peruvian Hairless Dog. Due to the texture of their skin and the fact that they are three degrees warmer than the normal canine temperature, kacllas have been used for millennia by indigeneous Andean civilizations as pain relief for rheumatism and other ailments.
KACLLA, The Healing Dog Hostel, is a cozy rest and mind-renewing centre where we intend to give you channels of connection with indigeneous culture and your inner self too...
Come and relax at our shelter and share with us your adventures through the land of the Incas. Begin your journey at our confortable and cozy house in Miraflores. It is only three blocks away from the Touristic Center and two minutes walking from the seafront.
We have restored and set up a traditional house from the early twentieth century keeping its peculiar style and implementing all the necessary amenities to provide you a pleasant stay.
Our bathrooms, both women’s and men’s, are spacious rooms specially equipped as a clubhouse bathroom. The showers, in different rooms than toilets, have hot water 24 hours.
The breakfast, included in all our rates, is the classic continental (bread, coffee, butter, jam, orange juice and cereal) with a native and nature touch.
A cozy living room is at your disposal to meet other travellers and share your adventures with them, or just watch some cable TV, a DVD movie, play a board game, play some music or maybe paint a nice picture. But if you need more privacy there is a reading room with books for exchange.
Our kitchen is fully equipped with burners, microwave and fridge so you can prepare anything you want.
There is wireless connection in all the area but if you don’t have a computer we can lend you one.
Our staff is at your full disposal 24 hours. We can provide touristic guidance and offer some recommendations if you want to make a deeper and more adventurous journey.
We have 6-Bed Shared Dorms and 2, 3 or 4-Bed Private Rooms; all equipped with personal security lockers. We also have Double Bed Rooms equipped with a cabinet. We provide sheets and pillows as well as courtesy blankets and towels.
We would like to be your channel of connection with the amazing peruvian mysteries and guide you in the best travel options. Come and join us !

From the airport: we recommend taking a taxi for 50 soles (US$20). Could take from 30 to 50 minutes depending of traffic. Book it with us and the taxi driver will wait for you outside the luggage pick up zone carrying a board with your name. If you are travelling light, want to save some money, and don’t mind a little bit of adventure, you can take a “kombi” (small bus) right outside the airport, just look for the one that shows an “S” sign on the windshield and tell the collector you are going to get off at the 1st Block of Benavides Avenue. If you follow this instructions you will be in Porta Street (our street), walk towards the sea (right side in regard to the “kombi”) and 2 blocks ahead you will find us.
From the bus station: we recommend taking a taxi for 13 soles (US$ 5). It is possible to arrive taking the “Metropolitano” bus in the crossing of Javier Prado Avenue and Via Expresa, toward Miraflores. Get off at “Av. 28 de Julio”-stop and take your right hand as you exit the station, walk ahead 8 blocks until you get Porta Street, turn left and look for the KACLLA at the left side of the street.
Good luck!!!
