Our intimate property is housed in a monumental mansion B&B. It features 5 Deluxe rooms, one of which is suitable for 4 persons. All rooms have a private bathroom with bath and shower, a sitting area, flat screen TV with DVD, an Ipod dock and free Wifi. Het Heerenhuys is situated among numerous characteristic farmhouses. The historic centre of Meppel and many beautiful nature areas such as the Weeribben and the Dwingelderveld, the Wieden (giethoorn) are within cycling distance. Each morning we serve a rich breakfast buffet in our generous guests ' living '. There is also a private kitchen for the guests, where you can cook yourself in the evening if desired. Furthermore, there is a spacious garden with several terraces, a free parking place for your car and a covered bicycle shed. E-bikes are free to be recharged. Children till 2 years stay for free in the parents ' room. Baby cots are available. Nice bike trips from the Heerenhuys Ruinerwold are abundant, for instance to the scenic areas Dwingelderveld and Reestdal. The brink villages Havelte and Ruinen are very typical for the area, and so is the town of Meppel. The largest megalithic tomb in the Netherlands is in Borger, accompanied by thirteen other megalithhic graves. In the megaliths centre in Borger, fun and interesting information about those 5000 years old burial vaults can be obtained. Water lovers can go to the nearby national parks Weerribben or Wieden.
