From Carrasco Airport:

-By taxi (about 25 minutes): white airport taxis from the arrivals area will charge you around 1300 pesos (~70 USD). During daytime you can also try catching a black and yellow taxi from the departures area, which charge a cheaper fare.
-By bus (about 50 minutes): take the D1 line, get off at Cerrito & B. Mitre, then walk 2 blocks (you can ask the driver to alert you when it's time to get off). On Sunday and public holidays the bus ends at Plaza Independencia, 7 blocks away. The fare is ~22 pesos (~1 USD).

From Tres Cruces Bus Terminal:

This part of Montevideo, known as Ciudad Vieja (Old Town) is home to nearly all its historic buildings, museums and sights. It offers a wealth of bars, restaurants, night clubs, art galleries and shops!
Therefore, most daytime and nighttime activities will be just a short stroll away!
