Delhi’s first real backpacker hostel that promises an introduction to the city and country you’re about to experience, a respite from the city’s chaos, the comfort of international hostels you’re used to, and an opportunity to meet like-minded India-trotters

1.We accept credit card and cash payment only upon arrival. And there will be bank charges extra.

2.1 day advance notice for free cancellation.

3.The reception is open from 9am-7pm but check-in is possible 24 hours.

4.We are not located in Paharganj or Old Delhi. Instead we chose to be in one of Delhi's safest and cleanest neighbourhoods. Old Delhi is 50mins by metro and we recommend doing day trips there to avoid the touting and chaos, and to get a more non-touristy experience of the city.
Prices are per person per night.

2/ Scams
India is known for its hospitality. During your trip, you are likely to meet tons of very interesting and very helpful people. Ultimately, we think, your experiences with the people of this country is what will be the highlight of your trip. However, you are also likely to run into thugs who take advantage of the fact that there is general lack of transparency and information in the country. They are generally found in places frequented by tourists (e.g., major railway stations, bus stations, and popular monuments, etc.). and have devised many creative ways to rip you off. So, it doesn’t hurt to be careful with your money.

In the most common scam, your driver will trick you to believe that the hostel is closed, the roads to it blocked, or that it simply doesn’t exist. They may take you to a 'tourist information centre’ where they may show you a copy of your booking or they will call the hostel where someone on the phone (an accomplice) will tell you that the hostel is full. Don’t believe ANYTHING they tell you. They have very creative ways to scam you and all these are tricks to sell you expensive tours or take you to the wrong hotels. Moustache Hostel exists, is always open, and if you booked with us, we have a bed for you! Just ask them to take you to your destination no matter what. If they say they don’t know where this place is, read out the directions to them. Worst case, threaten to go to the police station which is not very far from where all the tourist information centres are. You can also call the hostel yourself using the number given.

From the Metro: get off at Kailash Colony metro station (Purple line) and take a cycle rickshaw (bargain down to Rs.20-30) or walk (13-15mins) towards GK1 M-block market asking for directions to JHT hotels in S-block of GK1

Cab/Auto rickshaw/all other forms of motorized transport: ask the driver to take you to the main street of GK1 M-block market. S-block is on that main street on the opposite side. The hostel is 3 buildings down from JHT hotels.

From the airport: look for the prepaid taxi service run by the Delhi police (ask around if you have to). These are reliable and cheap. Expect to pay Rs.300-400.

From New Delhi railway station: take a metro. If not, look for the black and yellow taxis. Expect to pay Rs.300.

Located Near

The hostel is a one-minute walk from one of Delhi’s coolest markets, 1km from the metro that takes you everywhere, and has sightseeing options nearby - temples, markets, parks - that are frequented by locals

Old Delhi – the historical city – is 50mins by metro, so you can spend your day there and then run back home to some peace and quiet at the end of the day when you have had enough of the chaos and touting of the Old Town.

The airport and railway station are both 30-40mins by taxi
