Very good value for the international traveller on a budget. Secure, clean and very helpful friendly staff with excellent local knowledge. The area shows a side of New York that maybe wouldn't normally be seen - very artistic and culturally rich. Only slight problem - lots of stairs although staff were happy to help with luggage.
